Attached are 2 pics of coins that seller states are a combo of both repros and real coins. before I waste my time going to look at them, do there appear to be any real coins in here? The ASE, Ellis Island, and Peace dollar look like possible legit coins...as for the rest, I would have to guess probably not. The morgans, I'm also questioning.

It's got more fakes than a room full of politicians.

I'm really going to need much better pictures than these in order to give you a good feel for whether these are real or not. I'm sorry but these pics don't give me enough info to determine. Sorry!

Quote: seller states are a combo of both repros and real coins. With a seller's comment like that, why would you even need to see pictures? What credible seller would sell a lot under those circumstances?

the ellis island coin is one of those fake dollar coins with something like a 1906 date and all the Trade dollars are fake (some are easy to spot because wrong design) the bust dollar is also fake and not a very good one. the Peace dollars and Morgans may be real but gathered with all these other fakes it makes them questionable as well. Especially since I see no reverse of a Morgan or Peace dollar in that second picture, just reverse of a bunch of fake coins Quote:The ASE, Ellis Island, and Peace dollar look like possible legit coins. You have better eyes than me (or worse) because I have looked at these pictures a couple of times and can't see any ASE's in there at all

at first glance I thought the ellis was a commemorative 1986. but on closer inspection, it does indeed look like it says '06

Why would anyone sell a group of coin like that? If you want to take a chance, assume all are fake, and price as such, you may get lucky, but I doubt it.

The only piece in that group that MIGHT be real is the 1902 Morgan.

I don't like the looks of any of them. And just the fact that the guy even dabbles in fakes is enough for me to stay away. I'd run.

here's the whole story...this girl said she has some coins that she found when cleaning out her mom (or aunt's) house. she's had them for a while, doesn't know anything about coins, doesn't collect them. she just wants to get rid of them, hoping they might be worth something. she had someone take a look at them once, and they told her some were almost definitely replicas, and some he wasn't sure about. I assume he was no coin expert either. he told her to take them to a pro, but she's not done that (or she has and they're all fake). she said she just wants to get rid of them, if there's anything of value, she'll take what she can get as she needs the money. she lives about 5 minutes from me, and there are no coin dealers in the area, so it's plausible she hasn't taken them to a pro seeing as how she doesn't have a car.
