1953 SF Near looks like face value by the pictures...

Yes face value is 5 cents..

In the 1953 nickels there 4 varities:

1953 NSF (No Shoulder Fold) Flared End Of "I" In DEI Far (Maple Leaf Far From Denticles)

1953 NSF Near (Maple Leaf Near Denticles)

1953 SF (Shoulder Fold) Near ** This Is Yours **

1953 SF Far

The 2 1953 nickels that are worth alot are the NSF Near & SF Far....

thank you , I appriciate it. I don t know how you saw sf or no sf but thank you,ive been tring to compare but I havent got lucky I guess lol .

ynotto.. Here is a picture taken from the Charlton Book showing the respective varities on the nickel.

If I may suggest..Buy a good coin book as there is a wealth of information that will help you..

thank you with the coin in my hand and looking at the picture mine looks like the second images the lower ones!! and I do have a coin book I just didn t have that info in there.

It may not grade high, but it is a hard coin to pull from circulation. You might go through a $1000 dollars in nickels before you find another. Enjoy it.
