Aurangazeb issued coins with his name struck as "Aurangzeb Alamgir".On many of them, only "Alamgir" will be visible.

A coin that was previously attributed to Akbar is now re-attributed to Jahangir. The mint is Kotri, a relatively difficult mint that was recently confirmed by experts.

Here is a Rupee coin of Shihab ud din Shahjahan. On the obv. Kalima is written above mint and date. Mint is "Jahangir nagar". This town was renamed later as "Dacca" and is now the capital city of Bangladesh. This is an issue in the month Aban, Ilahi (Date not visible). On the rev. full name of the ruler.

Dear Desibot, You have a splendid picture of a Sawai Mohur (25% overweight) of Jahangir. It is an issue of AH.1018.As far as I can read, Obv. legend is "Nur ud din Jahangir ibn Akbar Badshah". Rev. reads "sikka zadr shahr Agra Khusru xxxx". You can see a similar specimen here. https://www.zeno.ru/showphoto.php?photo=17125Thanks

It was suggested that I post in this thread to get help in identifying some Nastaliq script coins from India that have been passed on in our family - there is a chance they may be from Hyderabad, India but not sure. Curious about the era and what's written on it. Thanks very much.
