EF-40/45, The pictures are too small for an accurate grade. Aim for at least 800x800.

EF45. There is some slight wiping on the obverse.

BadThad - I am running into a problem with the size constraints on photos, that's why mine are small? I would love some pointers, right now I am taking 10MP photos, then resizing them and/or compressing them in Microsoft Office Picture Viewer or whatever it is to get them below 100K. How do you get a good 800x800 under 100K?
Thank you....

Drop your camera resolution back, you don't need 10MP. I'll double check my settings when I get home, but I think my starting pictures are around 3MP and and simply resize to 800x800 or so with Paint Shop Pro to get below 100k. My web files are usually 90k.

Is the coin considered "wood grained" or does the finish have any particular name? I like the "striping" in the copper. Maybe not visible enough in the pics...? Anyone?

This is AU53 in my book with awesome eye appeal. I like the bit of a grain in it, which is common for this one. Would love this coin in my collection if you are selling :)

Beautiful brown cent. I think it's on the high end of XF maybe a slider to AU-50. If you can be extra careful not to damage the coin, I'd try to get rid of the gunk.

Quote: "wood grained" or does the finish have any particular name Striping on copper coins caused by poor mixing of alloy is call wood grained or more commonly call a "woody". A nice natural look more common in older issues.

Matthew the better way would be to keep the map and resolution as high as possible.
Just host the image on a place like imageshack.com or photobucket.com

Hi Chris - thanks, how do I know how to upload images to sites like the ones you referenced, but how do I get those photos to show up in my posts here? Thanks!
