Muddler

Yup, sure did. Not too far from where I found the ring.
No clue why anyone (once again) would toss these things
50/60 feet out into a lake. I did not know that these were
part of a set. Did all the coins in the set come in airtites ?
I better go and recheck that area tomorrow before the lake fills back up. I'm finding all this stuff with just my bounty hunter tracker IV. I get some slack from other MDer's about it. A buddy of mine has a $6,000.00 minelab detector. Even he was amazed. The signals are super strong on all the coins, silver and gold as well as other things like spoons, tags, keys, lead weights, matchbox cars, locks, car parts and all sorts of interesting trinkets etc.
Must be the wet sediment that makes for a good signal.

I understand that it is the oxygen that causes the problem. If the coin is encased in mud, it should take a lot longer to deteriorate.

If the lack were to fill up, I'd be learning how to scuba dive :-)

I'm heading back today to the same area.
I also saw that they minted a set with a gold eagle.
U'mmm, what are the odds ?
Estimate on just the coins found yesterday.
$50.00 face value. Not including any silver.

Total tally for the 3 days there. Rain and now snow so nothing today.

1 Gold/diamond ring.
Misc. toys, keys, key chains, dog tags, tokens and some foreign coins.

Took the ring to my jeweler for a clean up and some brush work etc.
Pics not super sharp but ? Ignore the hair on the knuckles.

Brush finish on each side half way down. Pics. do not do the ring justice. Size 10/11

Keep looking. Now that you have found Jimmy Hoffa's ring, you might find the rest of him.

Hairy knuckles don't bother me. I would rather see pictures of the coins. Must have been a exciting
couple of days. Nice finds!

Just noticed that. Well, maybe a bunch of little finds then :)
If I found a john deere farm tractor on the bottom of the lake then I guess that would be a pretty big find !
As far as the coin pics. I already rolled all the nickels, dimes and quarters. The only other decent coin was the Franklin half but that was not so hot looking. The cents look real bad and needed a good soaking. I have started rolling those ugly fugly's. Should fill a $25.00 bank box. The other coins were pretty ugly also. I can imagine the look on the tellers face when she/he cracks one of these rolls open.
One time I brought some MD find cent rolls to my bank and the teller was suspicious (gee, I wonder why ? :) and she opened up two of them and told me that she could not give these out to customers. I was polite and stated that they were legal U.S. tender. She was not happy with that statement. She then said that she could not really take these coins. I told her to just send them back to the fed.

So, were there any silver coins besides the Franklin?

No, not a one. I know that place well and if
they had drained down another 6 ft. or so then
there would of been a lot of silver coins.
The water is already almost back up to normal level.

I have just got an older White's Eagle Spectrum from a 93 year old friend of mine. It is pristine
and I cannot wait to be able to use it.

I am thinking of places to scan after I get the jest of it and my current church grounds come to mind.
They are mainly grass covered and there have been a lot of people on them over the last 50 or 60 years.

In addition, I doubt anyone has scanned the property.
