Thanks guys for your opinions. Looks like my Hadrian quest is over... at least until I decide to upgrade!  (which probably won't be for a while, trust me!  ) Edited by VisigothKing

All nice coins. I think you will have a fine hadrian coin soon JangoFett please post when you get it. I am still waiting on mine but some should be here on monday or tuesday...cant wait. I learned alot the past few months just from reading the posts on this forum, I also bought some roman coin books that havent come in the mail yet.

Not as good as the seller's pics, but it just arrived and here are my pics of it. Nice heavy coin; no doubt a great addition to my collection IMO!  But I can't immediately enjoy it right now; this one is going under the Christmas tree along with 4 other Roman coins that I am getting. I'll be sharing those with you guys after I unwrap them  |

BTW t360, it's Minerva on the reverse. Edit: I think  (now that I'm looking through Wildwinds), Minerva is what the seller indicated. Edited by VisigothKing

I'm pretty sure it's RIC 827, but both Wildwinds and Dirtyoldcoins (thank you Gil-galad for mentioning that site ) have the obverse description for 827 as "HADRIANVS AVG COS III P P" not "HADRIANVS AVGVSTVS". Or can 827 have either one? |

Thanks jessvc1, it has been a great day! Got my assignments back in Oral Communication class and got all A's and B's, and came home to the Hadrian and two of my Christmas coins waiting for me in the mail.

How much does your coin weigh and what is it's size? You know, I don't think your coin is a RIC 827, but rather an As, RIC II 664, Rome mint; obverse HADRIANVS AVGVSTVS, laureate head right; reverse COS III S C, Minerva, helmeted, standing left, shield in left, with right brandishing javelin. If the obverse legend is " Hadrianva avgvstvs" then it can't be RIC 827.

It's 27 mm and weighs 12.91 gm. About the obverse yeah, that's why I got confused. What reference did you use jw?

Wonderful coin JangoFett!  This statue in Guadalajara, Mexico shows the Roman Goddess Minerva with her shield and spear. |
