Blazing red, some hits to the right obverse field should hold it back. Then again, NGC can be wacky at 65 and up and a 66 wouldn't shock me.

I'm thinking MS65RD as well ... but wondering why this coin was sent at expense for TPG opinion? I have three original rolls of MS 1970-S LD LMC ... and have never considered them worthy of the expense of grading. David

These are TOUGH to find not all beat up. This coin could have been the best one someone found and thought it might be worthy of a 67 so they submitted. It's hard to pinpoint the logic some people use when submitting.

Thad the in front of Lincolns face are scratches on the case. the case is actually in terrible condition you can really see how scratched up it is on the reverse around the memorial building and America!
Just so you all know. will post the grade soon.

jaycutler beat me to the grade - but he forgot to designate the color! I win, I win, yay! But seriously this is my favorite part of CCF, I really like going up against the TPG's on so many different and varied coins, that is why I enjoyed the ANA Summer seminars on grading so much, tons of slabs being passed around with sticky notes hiding the grades. I really should retake a recent class again, I've done basic, and advanced twice, and maybe another class I forgot about. I think I've been to 7-9 seminars now, one was in 1982 in Tucson for the mid year ANA show, the rest at Colorado Springs.
