well done..noticed one on ebay last night, it was 14 bids and about $140 and just looked again to get details as I don't know how to put the link thingies up sorry and now it's 20 bids and $300 and 4 days to go if you'd like a look look up a user name "matbob" should be ableto find it easy enough under auction and just scroll down a little. I think I might log in later an put it in my watch list

Wow that is quite a lot more than I expected, mine is in quite similar condition as well which makes me very happy!

I know these are rare, but does anyone have an estimate of just ho many exist?
Cheers for the link too! wow, mine seems to be in similar condition, wearing of the crown is evident, but mine has a nasty rim dent or two. but doesn't detract too much from the overall quality I guess, and doesn't really bother me, a wavy 20 is a prize to me anyways!

I think yours is a better coin than the ebay listing. You have a far more distinct curve in the waterline above the "2". It is a bit of a worry in the ebay listing why the detail above the "2" isn't shown in a close up It won't be long before we see this being forged in China At least you know for sure that yours was made in Aus

Ausjack there are a fair few forged florins I have seen recently (on the ebay international site, luckily they were advertised as such), not just the 1934-35 but quite a few from the 1920's and 30's, won't be long till we see the 20c 1966 and the $1 2000 mule.

Yeah sad it's it and coins aren't the only things, just so much fake stuff everywhere. What more can I say..very sad

Ausjack I hear ya mate. When I first got intrested in Samuri Swords I bought a few "authentic" swords from a Chineese seller. They turned out to be just junk, Tested them out on cutting tests and they just bent I still have them but they arn't the real deal. It's all a bit of a learning curve, I now have a collection of modern manufacture Swords that ARE the real deal It's just a Bloke thing, wimmun like flowers Blokes like guns and Swords

the 66 went for 300 flat, which gives me a pretty good benchmark for my coin's value, reckon ill just keep it for a few years anyways:)
