Can you take more pictures? Nothing is better than PM pictures.

Well, I took some larger pictures of the Peace dollars when I got them last week and posted them here.

Nice haul. I'd also be curious to know how closely APMEX looks at what they're selling.

Who delivered them? Were they boxed, or shipped as shown? Surprised APMEX would put "precious metal" on the bag tags, but the bags are a giveaway.

Put those silver dollars in tubes the extra nicks are killing me. They are too beautiful.

Quote: Who delivered them? Were they boxed, or shipped as shown? They were shipped via FedEx with signature required. And they were packed inside a plain white box that was itself packed within a larger plain brown box with no indication as to the contents.

No, they would not do that, Hawk. These bullion / coin companies have the business pretty well figured out and safe / secure delivery is a good part of doing it right. No need to let thousands of dollars of PMs sit on porches or arrive in a box with " APMEX" or "Provident Metals" stamped all over it.

Quote: Put those silver dollars in tubes the extra nicks are killing me. They are too beautiful. Just thought I'd mention that I picked up a bunch of tubes at the local coin shop today for the Peace dollars. Of course, after putting them in the tubes I stuck the tubes back in the bag. I just really love the look of a bag full of silver...

Well, as others have said around here, it's not really spending money -- it's just converting it from one form to another (like converting a roll of quarters into a $10 bill).
At least, that's what I've been trying to convince my wife. It's a hard sell, though, especially given the inherent difficulty in selling PMs for anything like what you bought them for unless the PM market really takes off. That's why we only made a relatively modest purchase as a hedge against inflation and didn't invest our life's savings (a.k.a. our son's college fund). Unless silver has another significant dip later this year, that may well be my last bulk purchase.
