What about that J&M Coins? Good? I have never bought form any coin stores in Vancouver. (But I do live there)
How about the one in New Westminster, the one that's the closest to my home?

In my opinion, some new coin stores have cheaper pricings, because they want you to trust them.

I also live in Vancouver and have shopped at all the stores mentioned. I my honest opinion, best price for coins and service is Jim in Richmond. For supplies you can't find them cheaper than J&M. Probably because they by in bulk and can afford to sell them cheaper. The coin show on Jan. 22nd will be a great place to shop. Always lots of good deals. Just leave yourself some time to shop around Quick example...2x2 holders, everywhere sells them for .85 to $1.25 for 20....J&M $3.00 for 100.

I had no idea there were so many in the lower mainland. All Nations and J&M are the ones that I am acquainted with in the region.
Thanks for the Coin & Stamp Show update/reminder.

I am unaware of any new ones. Coin Mart would be the one in Coquitlam, and the guys there are fair to deal with (fair meaning honest and good communication as opposed to fair on your elementary school report card). All of the LCS's mentioned in the 2012 thread are still around to my knowledge except it is called Chantou not Chandou. In different ways I've found all of them good to deal with. J and M has large inventory relative to the others in my experience, and is good for supplies as mentioned. The staff are knowledgeable generally. They also deal fairly in bullion. Jim in Richmond is pleasant to deal with, and service oriented. Joe at Chantou is also good to deal with, and is quick to know what he has in stock. The Coin Mart guys I've dealt with a few times directly and through ebay. They grade fairly in my experience (as do the others). All Nations on Dunbar really has a niche business with a focus on their weekly auctions. Brian is very knowledgeable and nice to deal with as well. As a kid I shopped at his (father's) store when it was just below Pender Street downtown. The original sign is in the store front on Dunbar. Those are the ones I know, but then I'm on the western side of town, so rarely get out to New West and Surrey etc. It's hard to go wrong with any of them really.

Visited J&M not too long ago. Definitely not impressed. after having identified about 10 foreign coins in which I was really interested in (no price listed on the 2X2) I asked for the price. 2 employees spent about 30 minutes going through the Krause catalog. While they were doing so I asked three times about their usual pricing practices regarding catalog prices VS actual prices as it may affect the number of coins I would be willing to buy... silence. Once they had completed their task I asked what the price would be and I was given the catalog price. I guess if the owner had been there it could have been a different story...

At J&M, I only deal with Joe (owner) and Hammond (most senior staff). I don't deal with anyone else.

So far, no one has mentioned the cheapest shop to BUY bullion coins and bars in Vancouver. That would be VBCE (Vancouver Bullion & Currency Exchange). They have 3 locations. Guaranteed the best price to BUY. What I do is buy from VBCE, then if I want to sell, I go to J&M on Broadway (or Metrotown). They offer a better buy-back price.
If you want foreign currency exchanged, i.e. C$ to US$, again, VBCE is the best for prices. Beats the selling price of all the banks and currency exchange houses. A friend who works at a bank said that when a customer needs a large US$ exchange, the bank goes to VBCE and gets the currency (then upcharges the customer, of course).
Collectible coins, that would be a different story. These are not handled by VBCE.
