There's other threads here where I linked it
Realcent Is basicly a BULLION/penny hoarder forum, must of its members have 1 or 2 ryedales. They support Mr. Ryedale who is a member there .It's The $500 sort machine . Therefore most are biased, unfortunatley ignorant and its like a "special club" .However there is lots of information there and not all of the members are cocky arseholes.

Just trying to find actual, factual information not based on hearsay, like from a newspaper article or coin related publication.

chuckster,I've been pulling coppers and selling them on ebay for a little over a year...so, yes, some of us are pullling or hoarding the coppers. I did get one $50 bag that had no coppers, but that was out of 90 bags total I searched last year.

Big bunches of paranoid hearsay. I'm not seeing it, believing it or buying into it. Still lots of copper here in Ohio and lots of other locations across the U.S. (see the Lincoln cents roll searching thread). Seems the numismatic publications or other news media would be all over this if it was true.

To date I think there has been 1 news report on the portlandmint and that was the same video that involved the realcenter. Most people don't even know about Canadas Alloy Recovery Program(which only brings in cough cough 8 million a year cough cough ) , the news is flooded with the crap they want you to focus on , like what celebs are doing. But you are right there will still be lots of copper out there, as the order is rather small if you think about it. Also take into account that people are dumping their zinc loads to coinstar

Canadian Alloy Recovery Program has been in place since 2008 and is well documented.

There is no such solid documentation for any sort of similar alloy recovery program for the U.S. to be found from Brinks or the news media. If so, I'd like to see it. I think the assumption is, if it is happening in Canada, it's probably happening in the U.S.

I agree with texfischer. I keep all of my coppers. Did $20 in rolls this weekend and had about 30% coppers!

Some people who order boxes are getting entire boxes of zinc pennies, so try brinks pennies, if you start coming back with lots of zinc and hardly any copper then maybe the super sorter rumor is true. This should only be happening out east and/or down in Florida from early reports.

OK the entire box of brinks cent is done at least for copper ones . I got 577 pre 1982 coppers 64 1982 coppers 22 1982 zinc and only 3 wheat's so percentage of coppers in this brinks box of cents was about 21%
