I really like the designs for this year (the Chaco culture is ok but the rest are great). I am also happy with the Native American dollar design. I like the proofs and I am looking forward to getting a mint set this year. Anybody know when the 2012 mint sets will be released?

Right now there is no listing for the mint set release on the Mint site.

Amazing like you say, thanks for sharing the pix. Picked up my sets today from the PO. The designs will really pop if they make the 5oz'ers this year.

They look great. You are testing my will power to wait a year and pick them up on the secondary market.

lol These are nice enough that there may be enough demand that you dont get a great deal on the secondary.

I suspect future prices will be wholly dependent on the price of silver.

That will have somewhat of an influence. But if there are low mintages and high popularity....

Does the Mint make anything in small quantities anymore? I know the 1999 silver proofs where much more popular than the Mint expected and command high premiums. Since then they seem to be running the presses all out.

The 2010 Silver proof set was only 585,000 which is definitely a low mintage, so it depends. The 2011 silver set is at 544,000, so it might actually be lower as well. So yep, it could happen.

The full 2010 silver set along with the silver quarter set amounted to 859,417 of each 2010 design sold. I am hoping that this series takes off at some point, and with the great designs coming out, that is sure to help the cause along. They might someday have a premium like the '99s for the State Quarters, even though the '99 silver quarters aren't particularly scarce or rare. It's a marketing perception. However, the ATB silver proofs are not that likely to hit 1M with higher silver prices and lower demand.
