I hate when Silver ends the week on a high note. Every dealer now thinks silver is going to skyrocket on Monday and buying over the weekend is almost impossible.

Where are you buying your silver? I have never had this problem. The same premiums hold over the weekend. All online dealers hold their prices over the weekend too.

You know sometimes I get stupid and silver is at a price I agree with. However I think lets wait it is moving around and just maybe some more time and I will get it cheaper. It never works it always goes up.

I was surrfing on ebay, an spotted the guy I got that 2 oz. Goldas bar from, with some 3 oz. versions listed. Again Swiss silver, just as nice as PAMP, just no fancy artwork, just says Goldas on the front, and a computer chip on the assay card, chip silver....

Anyhow, his prices are dirt cherap for eaby, 113 total, so I grabbed it, so just 37 an some change per oz., and that is not too shaby for ebay, five bucks over per oz., on assay carded silver....

And, I have been wanting a 3 oz. bar bad, oddites I like....

I have 3 coin shops near me (NJ). 1 guy is completely honest(with his silver pricing atleast), I know his melt value silver prices before I walk in, he charges exactly spot which is amazing. The other 2, I can not for the life of me get a read on how they price theirs. They have been a little below spot one day and the following they are spot +2%. Just seems like when silver is making a move they tend to bump their prices up a little.

Gotta be careful tossing out words around here like "support levels", lol....

For sure, Hawk. Sometimes I think that people tend to read way too much into such terms. For me, saying that there is a support level at XX dollars only means that the average buyer would buy at or above that price and sell below it. That's all. Nothing Earth shaking about it and nothing carved in stone. Shrug.

My guess on that would be that these guys have a lot of ups and downs in their silver supply, so when they have quite a bit they sell for less than they would if they only had a little.

The 1st guy you mentioned sounds like quite an asset to a collector. I would be doing a lot of business with him and only a little with the other guys.

That's what I'm trying to do Ed, but as I'm sure you can imagine, with charging spot whatever he gets in, doesn't stay in very long.

Yes, that can be a problem. What you might be able to do, though, is to develop a good business relationship with him so that when he gets something that will be of interest to you, he will give you a phone call to let you know it is available. He probably won't hold it for you but if you know it is there, you can get to the shop more quickly than you otherwise would. Some coin shops will do this for their best customers and it is a real asset when they do. If they are willing to do this, then the customer can repay them by buying more from them. That makes it a win-win situation.

The shop I visit is also in NJ uses spot plus 3 percent and .715 for junk. You know exactly what you will pay. I don't think I would deal with a shop that didn't. I called Goldline prior to finding a local shop and no one could give the collation! I supposedly spoke to a manager as well! Never called them back. Don't hear much on them here so doubt many use them

Interesting to note that on the ol line graph, silver is holding around $32.43 right now, but sometime earlier today or this morning it got as high as $32.80. I think that is more of a sign of its steady rising movements, then the current spot price a the current time....

Silver and gold seem to be making good moves to the upside recently. These are not the rapid but unsustainable moves that we sometimes see in the PM business. These seem more like the slower and steadier moves that create the new base needed for much higher prices to follow. Whether they will or not is an open question at this point. It will be interesting to see what silver and gold prices are in the March-April time frame.

Speaking of gold... did you guys and gals see the APMEX sale on Canadian 1/2 oz. gold Maples? They are selling random year BU 1/2 oz. Maples for $860 a pop. Not at all bad. I may well be looking at picking up some of these.
