This coin was shipped in loose tissue paper that seemed to create high point wear during shipping.

WOW, I would not have minded overpaying some for that spectacular 1916 Walker. Love the toning!

Are you going to reveal the pricely sum?

$325 in 2009, it would have gone 62 or 63 if it had been shipped correctly.

I just picked up a 1916-s Walking Liberty on ebay the other day, grades PCGS VF35 for $535.00. Hope I didn't overpay too much. Still cannot figure how to post pics though.

I've probably overpaid for a lot of coins, but here's a particularly egregious example:

I allowed myself to get into a bidding war and ended up paying well over $200 for a coin that was polished to within an inch of its life.

I'm pretty sure I have overpaid for every Barber coin I have plucked from the melt tubs during the past year, in a perhaps misguided effort to see how much of a set I can build doing it this way. It is not all that easy to find them with both rims mostly intact, which is my condition standard. And they seldom have any reeding left.

Club coin auction, my notebook said to stop bidding on this coin at $8.00, but got caught up in the action and paid way too much, $16.00.

This should qualify. Rather than saying that I overpaid I prefer to say that I paid for what the market demands.
Paid $356.88 Just last November.
CDN ask price only $200.00

And there were two other bidders who wanted it as much as I.

Here is one I picked up while out on a beer run. Paid 120.00 for it. Drinking and buying coins are not a good mix. Over dipped and over graded. I'll take it.
