Fredor, I know PCGS is terrible on Maritime coinage but maybe if I send it to ICCS like you say I just might get a VF-20. I'll think about it!

Even if ICCS gives it a VF-20 it's still a F-15.

Hmmm, not porous and not cleaned. And,sadly, no H either. And I have to defer to the sagacity of littlemoney: it is as it is and no fancy packaging will alter it.

Coingirl, I'm interested in how you got your 1873. Was it included in a larger offering of NFLD coins at this small town sale? You got a bargain!

Coingirl, I don't know how to pm on this forum. But it is interesting to see where coins show up. I'm always out and about at small town auctions and flea markets. Something new is always showing up somewhere!

nice coin. I'd say it's a solid F-15. May I ask where you got it, and how much you paid for it?

I'd say F-15

NFL coins have apparently a different grading criteria than Canadian coins. this coin will / should grade ICCS F15, compared with my graded NFL coins.

F15, a little more hair detail would make it a VF. Beautiful toning, though.

Kitkat, I probably paid too much for it but I wanted it. I paid about $250. NFLD material is hot and cold. I like it but collectors can be fickle.

uhhh...that's not a bad price at all. I've seen ones sell on ebay in G-4 or
G-6 for $200.00 or more.
