I guess you could say that. I suppose the silver value could be considered the numismatic value. And congrats on the silver dimes!

Went through 2 more rolls of quarters today and actually managed to find something older than 2000! Yayyy...still nothing though. Found one 1968 dime after going through 43 rolls. 1 is better than nothing. CHEERS!

with the dimes that I got, the teller had opened a box and took out the excess rolls. Now these rolls were shrink wrapped together and after opening 3 rolls of them...they were all 2011! :-( I have got these shrink wrapped coins in quarters before and they were recent years but different years. What's the scoop regarding these shrink wrapped coins? I know a lot of people here say that they pick up a box of coins but now I wonder if they are going to be all recent dates. How can I avoid this problem when picking up a mass quantity of rolls? Do I request only paper rolled coins? Any insight into your expertise would be greatly appreciated. CHEERS!

Hey Sam.. the shrink wrapped coins are mostly form the Mint them selves. I'm guessing you Deal with RBC sometimes other banks may have shrink wrapped like HSBC but when I go to TD all I get is customer rolls. Because that's all they deal with they never get rolls from the mint. If you are dealing with RBC you will have to ask for customer rolled coin. Dont say paper roller as you may also get rolls from Brinks and such in which you will only find years 2000 and up. So again just ask for customer rolls and you should be fine, the only problem you may face is that the bank doesn't have that many customer rolls available.
Keep it up you'll score big soon.

Yep, I deal with RBC. Got skunked with 40 rolls today. I was wondering if I should open a TD account just to be able to work it a bit better. There are areas of town that I cant pick rolls up from because my dump banks are there but if I add TD then I can use the branch in those particular locations. I got teased a lot today by my rolls of dimes. There were 6 rolls there that 30% of the roll or more was older than 82 but not past 68. I got excited on the first one and was ticked by that last one ! Thank-you for the info

Just wanted to give everyone here an update in case you didnt see it on the roll hunting section ( which I totally didnt know was there when I started this thread, so thank-you all for you advice and comments and holding my hand and getting me started) So It's been a week since is started roll hunting. Yep, took the plunge from bullion collecting to roll searching. So far in 1 week (Actually 9 days) I have searched through 160 rolls of dimes and 70 rolls of quarters and have found 7 silver dimes . 1-1963 2-1967 and 4-1968. Found 4 of those 7 in 2 rolls today, not a bad day . Averaging 1 silver for every 33 rolls. You think that's not bad? Actually if we ommit the quarters since I didnt find any yet, it works out that I found 1 silver for every 23 rolls searched. AND I found a 1970 dime, which is somewhat low mintage...so I'm told. Hehe...I looked it up and it's the 4th lowest mintage year since like 1930. Thank-you ALL again for all your help, you can follow me on twitter @ http://www. Haha,,j/k I dont do twitter. See you in the other forum! CHEERS!

1 silver every 33 rolls isn't bad at all. I would definitely be happy with that. I'd be happy with 1 per box (50 rolls)

"Im guessing you Deal with RBC sometimes other banks may have shrink wrapped like HSBC but when I go to TD all I get is customer rolls." I have got quite a few mint rolls from TD, including 6 bison rolls, and 9 Orca rolls

Really? because when I went to my TD and asked for mint rolls just for the bison and Orcas they told me that they DO NOT receive rolls form the mint and that they only deal in customer rolls.. Although she did say sometimes just sometimes they will order rolls form other banks if needed. That may have been the case for you. PS I still cant find any Bison rolls, ALL ORCA here in Vancouver. I think I may be a bit to late to try and find the bison ones...

^ Too bad you are all the way in Vancouver. I beleive that I still have a roll or two. It would cost more than they are worth just in shipping.
