Sel, just how extensive is the coverage of those volumes?
It seems a daunting task to cover all the regions, coin types, and mints.
I have wanted these books too--perhaps I'll find them used; I need a good overview.

I've had these books for years and hardly ever refer to them. I just find them very hard to follow, there is so many coin types from regions, city states, etc that for me I just don't know where to stat looking.

I am reading volume I right now--the overview of coin types and denominations is interesting.
There sure is a large array of coins per region--I'm not sure how I'll take that all in.
I think since Roman coins are organized by emperor rather than region, that book is more helpful for getting an overview.

Very nice coin, just one question I know that 1 drachm is around 4 grams. What does hemidrachm weight?

Did you notice the bee on the reverse? There are many letters, minor devices and dots but this has the bee which I consider better than many. It is better centered than many but you might have received a slight discount for the test cut as often found on these but disliked by some buyers. They don't bother me so I often prefer cut coins for the price.

Nice coin. Very interesting. I hadn't recognized the bee until Doug pointed it out. Nice detail.

Very nice coin DV! I think the Cheronessos lions have a great regal look about them. Yours is nicely centered and the bee on the reverse is very cool!

Below is pic of mine (dot/grapes reverse). Its my oldest coin.

Yes, I suspected the test cut kept the final bid lower. I'm not bothered by it, because it doesn't cut into the lion or bee--both nice features of this coin.
