Tannerite
legal and explosive, but it might AT your coins quickly and not for the best.

That would be a neat video put a slabed coin next to a tannerite target and fire at it, see what happens.

It should be checked with the local government to make sure there is no law against damaging the sidewalks.

Just a reminder...

You can put around the link.

Or use the button in the Reply window. The-Proper-Method-To-Crack-Out-A-Coin.

This will embed the video into the post and prevent nasty things from showing up on the side. Not that these had anything nasty, but it does happen.

Have to question the intelligence of that guy using a hammer on the granite counter-top.. I get it those coins were not worth much, but the counter-top would cost at least 1,000 to replace :/

I was actually thinking about a 55gal drum with a loose top, and the coin placed in the center, securely duct-taped to the top. 10lbs of tannerite visible through the smallest-possible hole in the side of the can, also centered, should create a nice vertical launch.

Assuming you found the coin after the big bang, I suspect it would survive the launch and descent, but I don't think the slab would have much structural integrity afterward. Even if I'm wrong, it'd make a fun video.

Something like this:

HBQnpH-dFqU

The can was in the air for 13 seconds.

The coin would survive. It is made of durable metal. May loose a tad of value with PMD.

Is this a joke post? Why would you ever want to get a coin out of the case?

To put it in an album where (in my humble opinion) it belongs.

This is a personal preference and will not apply to everyone.

I understand why people like buying slabbed coins. There are even some that I wouldn't buy unless they were slabbed. However, I hate looking at coins in slabs.
