What does that mean? Any word on when the newer version will be made available?

This revision for the 7070 may be outdated by the time it's released. I've been waiting for seems like about 4 months now.

Really! Do you think so? I tried using picture grading but I just couldn't decide between VF/VF+ & EF

I am also not quite sure what to do with the 7070 when I finally get my hands on one... What do most people do with this album? Do they fill it with the highest grade coin types they can afford, what about error coins, exceptional eye appeal coins... Should I crack slabs on some really high grade coins to put in the album?

Upon a second look, I think I may have been a touch generous on the grade but I still think this an EF coin. It looks like there is a just some wear but not too much on the right knee and eagle's wings. I should have mentioned this earlier but I think this coin may benefit from an acetone bath. From the pictures, the coin looks a bit green and it may be from PVC.

I would be absolutely terrified to try something like that... What will it do to the coin?

Probably nothing on this coin, the darker color is tarnish, I'd only do an acetone bath if there looked to be any surface oils or PVC residue on it, wouldn't change the color of the coin, unless the darker color is from an oily substance, which I doubt very much. Looks great as is. I'd call this one EF40. Super type coin.

Maybe it is just me, but the coin looks a tad green. If it does not have that green cast in hand, then you can disregard my comments about an acetone dip. If the coin is actually a bit green in hand and it is in fact PVC, then a dip would be beneficial. A dip in acetone should not affect the patina of the coin as long as it is actually part of the coin. It will remove surface oils and residues. I can tell you that I have dipped coins in acetone to remove PVC with no ill effects.

Is there a thread here in the forum that explains the acetone process in detail? I can't seem to find one

I have been looking at the coin with my USB microscope. I don't think there will be an issue with the patina, but I had better err on the side of caution as to possible PVC. I do see a green 'haziness' in places, but I do not see any pitting or other damage to the surface of the coin.

Thank you Landon. I have to say, I am fairly pleased with the results. Any reassessment on grade at this point?

I'd call it a very nice, original XF-40 with some attractive toning. Have you noticed you have it graded as VF in your ecrater store? You should upgrade that to XF and it should sell quicker for you.
