If you are going to collect in this interesting and historical area, ALWAYS be vigilant of fakes.

Sorry for the blurry obverse. Only have two of these so far but am on the hunt for more. I'm going to have to make it to a major coin show and budget some funds to pick up a few more. Thanks for the tips.

Wow, is that a John Hart signature on that Jersey note? Interested in selling/trading it?

Joe ...if that's John Hart in the middle of the three signatures, it's worth $$$$hundreds of dollars!

Quote: Joe ...if that's John Hart in the middle of the three signatures, it's worth $$$$hundreds of dollars! Thanks for the info. Yes it appears to be a John Hart signed note. Is there a significant premium attached to these notes? Quote: Wow, is that a John Hart signature on that Jersey note? Interested in selling/trading it? I appreciate the intrest but I think I will hold onto it. Again thanks for the information on the note!

Colonial notes are highly regarded by some as they were a part of early colonial history. As mentioned above, some of the signers of these notes were patriots of the newly established country. Friedberg catalog has extensive data, listed by state. I have a nice example signed by one of the original signers of the Declaration of Independence. It is graded and authenticated as a NJ-7A and noted as being signed by Francis Hopkinson, original signer of the Declaration of Independence. Beautiful note. I prefer these notes to be certfied and graded - possibility of counterfeit notes is increasing. Good Luck
