With $1300 face value I am thinking the bid is the amount charged over face value, at least that's how it is usually done so that you don't pay fees on the $1300 face. So winning bid on this was most likely $1420.

Oh, that makes sense. That must be correct then. 120 something over face plus the ship. Most likely a priority medium flat rate box cost plus a small handling fee. I did not know that the fee was waived that way. Or shown after the close of the auction.

That's the same seller I guess. Stock/copy photo looks like also. Just another listing.

Hopefully, this will not end up good for the seller.

Actually that was what I was trying to figure out in the first place. Exactly what did ea. of these buyers buy ? No clue.

Wow, what a confusing auction. I can't tell if the buyer got a smoking deal or if the buyer is paying $120 something for a single roll.

Best I can figure is that the buyer purchased 4 rolls of the pres. dollars and paid $8.38 above face value per roll with the shipping included in that price.

I have seen many auctions on ebay over the years for currency that are handled the same way. If you list $1300 face in coins and it only sells for $1345, after the fees for listing, final sales price and Paypal, the seller ends up with far less than the face value. Apparently it has worked for him as previous buyers of these other $1300 face auctions gave positive feedback.

I agree this listing is very very confusing. I at first thought the high bidders were a shill or something but it seems they have more feedback than the seller has and it seems that the auctions were won by different buyers. It would seem if they got over 1300 dollars face value for 82.90 they would put something besides "ok" as a feedback Quote: These are selling for $36 a roll or BEST OFFER. You decide their value; one roll or all rolls. Shipping and Handling; one roll of coins; $3.00, multible rolls will be combined to cut your shipping costs. The # of rolls purchased will determine your shipping fees and we will ship your order as economically as possible I think this is what is happening here. They are selling each roll for 36.00 a roll or best offer and you can buy as many rolls as you want. I am guessing the buyer didn't read the description or didn't understand it like we don't and the seller didn't list it as a dutch auction like he should have in both auctions (you would think after the first time he would have learned) and once he emailed the buyer they both agreed to back out as there wasn't a meeting of the minds in the sale and that is why there was just an "ok" left for feedback. I bet the second sale won't go as smooth for the seller if this is what happened and the buyer will want all rolls for the bid price since he didn't list them as a dutch auction and will probably get a negative sooner or later because of this

Ambiguous listings like this should only end in negative feedback for the seller. After reading the description it sounds like the auction is for all of the rolls in the picture. But after reading it a second time it seems like each roll is selling for $36 dollars. Really a terrible listing. I would ask the seller a ton of questions before bidding on this, simply because it isn't clear.
But who really wants these dollar coins anyways?

I feel like from the listing the buy would have a very legitimate claim if he got anything other than every roll in the listing. If it was supposed to only be for one roll each should have been individually listed
