What Should I Do?

silver is silver, true, but it helps me sleep better at night if silver went from $30 -$26/oz if I paid $30 for a mint state 49-s franklin, than for a $30 bullion round, that I could of waited a day and got it for $4-$5 less... I dont know I guess for some people that doesn't mean anything. I'm poor and when I spend any $$ I want to get the most of out my fiat currency...lol...

that goes for 90%. if silver is at $30/oz. and the junk silver quarters for $5.45 that day. then the next week if silver dips down to $25, that makes each quarter $4.50. I could of saved $1 on that junk silver had I waited..

now, if you buy a MS64, franklin for $30-35... id say that coin isn't going to depreciate anytime soon...

anyway, thats just me...

I try to have both bullion coins and junk. I would collect what ever you like you know,especially if it catches your eye and not your wallet

Same here, but yes, I love the look of the Silver Eagles, but I love the price of the 90%. I'll just continue to buy both until my mind decides what I really want

My thought is that in a collapse scenario, silver will be worth WAY more than any of us paid for it and whatever premium we paid will be a dim and distant memory. Paying lower premiums will get us more ounces of silver for the same amount of fiat, though.

I am new to buying silver but I tend buy what I like. I bought some small 1 oz bars, some ASE, ATB coins, and various other 1oz pieces, and a litlle 90% whenever I can. I have gotten 6 proofs in the last 7.00 face value 90% quarters from my local shop. They are out of place with the rest of them they shine like the Dickens.

I'm trying to keep my average cost per Oz below $30 so I buy ASEs when they get low enough and bars when I have to.

True, but my stack is a lot smaller than most. I went a few months without buying any waiting for silver to drop again. When silver takes off again, I may have to rethink that number though.

I built my first 100 ozs in ASEs and junk silver primarily. Since then the only junk silver I've been buying are Morgan/Peace dollars at melt and Merc dimes at melt.

I now primarily focus on generic silver rounds (i like the ones that commemerate an event), modern commems and Prestige sets. I still buy ASEs if the premium is not too high. Recently completed sets of 46-64' dimes and War Mercs. Have about a half set of Franklins I'm working on. All of the sets are in uncirculated or high AU condition.

Collect what you like. Staying as close to spot as you can is a good strategy.
