Love that 1921 MS-63! Nice strong strike, great coin.

On the 1928, those scratches on the neck and field are on the case and not the coin?

Quote: I have grown tired of the "Raw" format of the coins ... I could always make room for your Dansco if you want to send it my way. I will even buy my own 1928 for the cracking. Kidding aside, very nice. I hope you keep both sets.

Kidding aside, very nice. I hope you keep both sets. That is my intention. The Raw set will go to my youngest who is really interested in coins as well. The slabbed set will be for retirement purposes in the next 15 years. Probably take 15 years to finish it at the rate I am going and the prices in MS-63. I am thinking about selling the "P" coins, except the 21, and upgrading those to MS-64 as those are still reasonable. That will happen once the set is done.

Sounds like a decent plan to me. Keep us updated on your progress.

I hate slabs so my suggestion would be to break them all out and put in your Album. Keep all the little stickers from the slabs though. Even that makes little difference in the future if you want to sell them since so few would believe those stickers are for those coins. Since I never sell coins, again, I'd put them all in the Album so it's easier to see them all at one time. Then you could show them to your wife and she might not think they cost so much if in an Album.

Very nice set. I had enough of these around to feel the need to get a Dansco. All avg circulated. I just got them in a Dansco for giggles, since I could fill about half the holes with just what I had on hand. Maybe I'll be able to upgrade the coins one day and make them pretty like yours. I am just dealing with too many other sets right now to be serious about these.

Great way to go. One set raw in album to touch and play with them and another MS set in slabs for investment. I've always popped coins I need out of the slabs to plug the album holes. I hate looking at empty spaces in an album, especially when I know I have all the coins. I do keep the labels though and put them on the back page of the album.

Very nice collection Freedom. I always debate about breaking out coins. I love to be able to see and hold them. But on the other hand, seems like a waste if I have to regrade them - especially if the receive a lower grade.

Nice collection. A series I'm slowly but surely starting to think more about collecting...

why all PCGS? Why not do a combo of NGC/PCGS?

Quote: why all PCGS? Why not do a combo of NGC/PCGS? Have a ton of stuff from NGC, nothing from PCGS so I went with PCGS. PCGS graded items seem to hold their value a little better than NGC, not sure why, but that is what it seems.
