They can refuse it, but they also lose their ability to claim non-payment of the debt.

He told them ahead of time, sounded like they agreed to it thinking he was kidding and then honored it when he actually did. Right now theyre probably just happen that the loans being paid off and not defaulted on

It was only $620 worth of cents...however they would assorted from the past 35 years..wait, a 35 year mortgage? I have heard of 15 and 30 year but not 35 years. Perhaps they had a refinance along the way.

Were they rolled?

I live near that town. I considered going there, but lost interest before attempting to contact the bank. I wouldn't be surprised if someone actually went to that bank and tried to buy out the pennies.

A year or two ago, I would have definitely at least called to see if they were available.
