here is one pic' of the more identifiable collections of silver. Lost aloso were rolls of 50 cent pieces with one dollar coins going as far back as the early 40's to 50's also there were hundreds of 25 cent pieces with the loonie series. The key to finding these are due to the way I collecteds them. I would mount them on 8 x 10 cardboard ( thin ) and would use double sided tape to mount them for quick inspection. So these cpoins will have a white and or sticky reidue on the back side of the coins. This system is unique to me.Then they were covered with plastic report covers

This photo is how the wall looked when I had left home. From the tv coverage and newspaper, you can see very little is left. All coins are gone

Here is some good news about the stolen collection in Halifax. On Saturday at 1:30 am, I got an email from the Detective on the case, that the " Drug Squad " have come into a number of collections that match what I am missing. He is off till next Tuesday, and then he will be able to view just what they found. For the drug squad to connect a collection to me, has got to be good news. The culprit's are in jail and have the collection at the cop shop.

This is one of the reasons why I don't collect anything valuable, because you just can trust the people that you think you can trust that won't do no wrong. I'm sure I'm wrong about this, but I believe the land lord shouldn't just go in without warning you.I remember my mother telling me about a Landlord she had that would go into her apartment for no reason when ever she was out. Sometimes this Landlord would bring someone she knew into the apartment. Maybe they were looking for something in the apartment that belong to my mother to steal, but she caught the landlord three times going into the apartment, and the third time was the last time my mother moved out.

Now 4 years after the tragedy I'd be curious to get an update. Has anything resurfaced?

I thought the same thing, I was looking at all the threads and realized this was like 4 years ago before the two recent replies.
As active as the victim was on this site letting us know what was going on, it was like he just disappeared, too bad because we were about to find out if he got his stuff back, since that is big news and we heard nothing from him since, I think we have to assume something bad came down on him, his health was not good. or maybe the stealing landlord (yah it was him) kicked him out?
in any case, it is a heck of a world where people would steal your dirty socks if they could. but dang it is too bad he broke off contact just before we could find out if the drug squad coins were his... sorta like the power going out in a movie theater 20 minutes before the movie ended.
in any case, I feel sorry for him, but these days with the social networks it is likely that he would have got his money back from a good people(s) or group(s)... seems like when things like this happen now and it is made really public that there are people all over the place who would contribute to a fund, not sure about 4 years ago tho.
I know his theft was real. too bad tho there are lowlifes out there who fake thefts or bogus health issues, get on some go-fund-me site or fakebook and get money, sometimes a lot more than the original loss because they are scammers. it takes away trust and donations that should be used for real victims like this guy.
I can't pm the guy because I do not have enough posts yet to be allowed to do that, maybe somebody can pm him and see about a late update or if he is even alive? sounds like his health suffered upon the shock of discovering the theft.
I say the landlord did it.
