But seriously, I do know a bunch of collectors at my local show, who are insanely rich, and I know some that struggling, and come there to look, typical stereotypes for coin collectors *sigh*

This is all very discouraging, but I continue to believe it's a very small minority; the vast majority of folks I deal with are just fine. It's that 1/10th of 1 percent!

They have obviously forgotten what got them to where they are today. Good customer service is key, although when companies reach a certin level they seem to throw all common courtesy out the door due to their inflated image of themselves.

Not sure I agree can with that, it seems to be a fairly significant percentage IMO.

Obviously communication was not this seller's strong point. In his/her defense though, it was a holiday weekend. If they were waiting to receive their coin back before sending your delivery out, then 9/4 would be the next business day. I wouldn't consider it unusual that orders prepared 9/4 would likely be posted 9/5. Granted it appears that you may have been the catalyst that got your delivery moving toward the door in the first place, I wouldn't have any problem with the time frame here.

Delivery status information is not available for your item via this web site. A return receipt after mailing may be available through your local Post Office.

This does NOT mean the item is not shipped. Delivery Confirmation is exactly what it is. Delivery Confirmation. It is not tracking. DC packages are not required to be scanned along the way, only at delivery.

Yeah it's amazing that people will make every excuse in the book for taking so long to package something up and get it mailed. I probably ship 80-90% of my ebay items within 1 business day, and the other 10-20% no later than 2 business days (usually it only falls back to the 2nd day if I realize I am out of the correct shipping materials). Now if you have something crazy happen like a death in a family, that's one thing, but some sellers just take a laid back approach to shipping items. But like many others here, I have a full time job, I have other real life responsibilities, I go to the gym 4-5 days a week so yeah I am busy. But I don't let that hold me back from providing good service.

I had a buddy who was selling on ebay as well, and was taking 2-4 weeks to ship items. He had worked hard to build up his seller reputation and then suddenly got lazy and made excuse after excuse. I tried telling him that buyers dont really care what's going on in your personal life and that there was no reason he couldn't take 15-20 minutes out of his life to package and mail the items. Needless to say, his ebay account is garbage now and he seems to have given up entirely.

I think you are making a mountain from a mole hill.
They had the holiday weekend/had to wait for your returns.
Sure, they were a little slow but nothing get upset over.
I wonder how you react when something bad really happens!

It's strange, but every time I contact a seller about a late delivery, the excuse is always that they were in the hospital. What's up with that?

For whatever reason the PO website and ebay dont always interact well. I've seen packages where if you click the ebay link you get nothing, but if you check on the USPS site it shows. I've also seen ones where it wont show up for a day or two then all of a sudden the tracking will show and its almost to me.

Really not sure whose fault it is the USPS site or ebay, but if its ebay you think theyd be working on it

The one that really gets me, is the seller who is blaming someone else in his family for letting him down and not getting a package mailed. Then after repeated emails he tells you that what I am seeing is not the real businessman that he is. Then he has the nerve to email you to ask if you are interested in doing another deal with him. After you tell him that you don't have the money to buy anything at the present time, you get an email from a 3rd person who is checking up on the sellers credentials.

Subsequently you find out that the seller has been to jail 47 times and has recently cheated someone again for the 48th time.

This has happened on another forum that I am a member of and why I will no longer make any purchases there after the one and only time.
Rest in Peace

I've had this happen to me more often than not with the tracking link through ebay. It will show the package was accepted and went to the sorting hub and then 3 or 4 days later with no updates it will be out for delivery and show a couple of stops in sorting facilities the previous day. Sometimes it will be four, five even six scans that all pop up the day it's out for delivery. I guess the bottom line is I get the packages.

Thats exactly what happens to me. As I buyer I usually dont worry about it, but when I sell its frustrating that it wont even show the drop off for a day or too making it look like I havent shipped it yet

I'm not sure it would work but why can't sellers simply say this order will take from 2 to 3 weeks due to a massive amount of recent orders. A few do that and then there is no problems. I recently joined the GM club for road sice assistance. I called and requested additional cards so I could put a card in each car. The lady that answered simple said no problem but expect several weeks for this. And yes it did take two weeks. But it didn't bother me since that is what was stated. Why don't more companies do that? Simply say it will take xxx amount of time. Then no reason to get mad.
