Thank you very much for all of your opinions ...

=> oh, and I'm sorry if I didn't back your horse ... nothing personal => it was all my personal decision/choice when it came down to wallet-time!!

Thanks again for your input (you guys rock!!)

FYI => I am currently knee-deep in a Canadian paper-money Live Auction (my horse is quickly approaching and I am getting an itchy trigger finger) ... I "should" just walk away ... but I can't!!

yesssssss!

I stole this Dominion of Canada bill for $425 (Charlton catalogue book-value estimate => $900!)

=> Cha-Chinnnggg! ... every now and then, nobody shows-up for the on-line auctions and it's like shootin' fih in a barrel!! ... winner-winner, chicken dinner!!

Ummm, just in case you are remotely interested in my other-side collection, here is the dirty ol' bill that I just scored!! (I know it seems ridiculous, but the fact that this bill is an early issue and that it has scalloped borders makes it a total "winner"!!)

I am a number one fan as well, but I think it may have had a slight advantage with the pictures.

Jerry, I know absolutely nothing about these bills, but who the heck is that ugly chick on the bill?

Dominion of Canada. Sounds menacing, in a very friendly and hockey loving way of course. I don't know anything about bills, but grats on the bargain catch!

For eye appeal, I would pick coin number 1. If it's that much of a toss up why not just buy both coins?

Who's that?

Well Bing => that is Lady Dufferin ... she was married to Lord Dufferin, who became Canada's "third" Governor General in 1872.

... apparently she was all that and a bag of chips!!

Might just be the photos, but coin #1 is so much more appealing. BUT, I could stand to own either!

Here are a couple of the world's worst photos ... 'but" they do kinda show the size difference between my PHILOPATOR and a Canadian quarter ... *hopefully*
