It is actually only worth about $5.00. The one on the Coast to Coast ad in YoungNumismatists post is a replacement. Replacements on MPC are identified by the lack of a suffix letter in the serial number.

I did look at the posted link, and see one is for sale for the $110

Dealer green sheet list this note with a value of $1.00 for VG and
$20.00 for Gem CU 65. It states this note was issued between
6/20/51 to 5/25/54.

I am not sure sure why coastcoins states this is rare, I am pretty
sure I have seen them before. Coast coins is calling theirs a
"replacement note" Maybe something like star notes. It could be
something like the "18" in the top left could put their note in
a different group .. I would need more research or a expert on
MPC's to figure out why coasts is at such a high price.

Edit: I am so slow at typing that Lettow and Amida beat me to the answer

Sorry everyone for the mistake. I am sort of just learning about currency because my main focus is coins. I just saw this one earlier and did not research before I posted. Extremely sorry.

MPC - military payment certificates is a fun series to collect. There are lots of history behind it and if you do decide to get more into it there are lots of different designs to choose from. The replacement notes are not easy to find in good condition and when you do, they usually carry a pretty big premium. Anyway, nice note :)

And it is still an interesting set of notes to collect.

Is there any significance to the number on the upper left? Is that a plate position or something? I have one of the same series which is plate number 1.

The number on the upper left is a position number. MPC is lithographed which means no plates and no plate numbers. The position number identifies where the note was on its sheet. MPC fractionals were printed 84 to a sheet. This note would be the bottom right corner. Buffalo's position number 1 is the upper left corner of the sheet.

On their slabs PCGS identifies this number as a plate number but that is wrong.

Maybe you can try to collect the whole sheet, from 1 to 84 with sequencing serial numbers. A little hard to attain at my level, but a good goal I would say.

That would make an awesome collection, but I don't think it is possible for notes that old.

The serial number of MPC was similar to that of FRN. The numbers on the same sheet are not consecutive they are 8000 notes apart. Position 1 will have number 00000001 and position 2 on the same sheet is 0008001. Position 1 on the next sheet will be 00000002 and position 2 is 00080002. That way the numbers are sequential down through the stack of sheets for cutting and packaging. The higher numbers are printed first so the sheet with 00000001 is actually the last sheet printed of the first 8000 sheets.

Well sequential as far as the sheet would go. If you know what I mean? I mean collecting the whole sheet basically.
