On occasion, I've written to sellers about similar souvenir items. The response, if I receive one, typically boils down to a question of the seller either being or acting ignorant. On occasion, I've received kindly responses for taking the time and making a well-intentioned effort to save the seller and potential buyer some grief. Sadly, such pleasant occasions have been few. In the long run, I've come to the conclusion that most folks tend to better learn the "hard" way. Whether it's coins or some other topic, there seems to be a tendency, nowadays, on the part many folks, to "kill" the messenger. People far prefer to listen to people who tell them what they want to hear, want to believe. While I'm rarely too shy to tender an opinion, I'm increasingly of the mindset that, "Who am I to want to deny a person of a valuable (costly though it may be) learning experience?"

Without the CCF and similar forums, such favorable happenings wouldn't be nearly as possible.

Huh? Quote: Let's see how high this probable CSA half dollar copy goes! I don't think ExoGuy had anything to do with getting it removed or helping any bidders. I however, took the opposite approach and took 30 seconds of my very busy life to actually report it.

Thanks, Scubu ! While I've reported a number of "bad" auction items over the years, this wasn't one of them. ebay has ignored some of my reports, and I thought that this would be another of those. I'm encouraged by their fairly quick response to your report. Does ebay consider some reporters as being more credible than others?

it seems if you report it with the link they provide it just gets skipped over at times but if you contact customer service with their link (like the link in scubu's signature) and tell them the problem they forward the email to the appropriate person and it gets handled rather quickly
