Thanks everybody! The coin looks better in hand than the picture. I believe the dark spots are actually dirt but I don't want to mess with it too much. It looks like a couple of small die breaks on the reverse near the rim at 1 and 3:30. I assume this was fairly common with this coin.
John, I lack the skills to say whether or not it's been cleaned. I can tell you that in hand, I see no signs of it, but that doesn't mean much.

From what I understand die cracks and clashes are common on these. Looks ok so don't try cleaning it. Congrats on your find. John1

I noticed the die clashes were common. I was kind of hoping mine had one, just because I think the one's I saw on ebay look neat. It really shows up well on the reverse, with all the flat surface around the III. OO

Very nice! I found a Three Cent piece in a coin machine reject shoot once (and I think one or two other people here have as well), but that's the first one I've seen found in a roll on the forum before! Well done! -XoG

Wow, looks like it was spent by someone who didn't know what it was. Doesn't look like it has 130 years of wear at all! SWEET coin

Thanks guys!
Broseph, I envision some thug stealing someone's coin collection and then just dumping it in one of the self service coin counters to avoid any chance of getting caught.
Part of the fun in finding these old coins is guessing how they ended up there.
