Quote: ebay.ca has no problem with them. eBay.com will remove the listing if it is reported. If the listing is listed on eBay .ca by a Canadian resident they absolutely will not remove it. They can even put values in the title and they will not remove it. I've been complaining about it for years and they will not fix this ridiculous double standard. Canadians get to break the ebay.com rules and have their listings show right next to the Amercian users in the same search results on ebay.com that must follow the rules or get their items removed and risk paying more in fees. If they break ebay.com rules, they should not have their listings show on ebay.com. They should show on ebay. ca only where they are within the rules.

IMHO - As far as a seller being able to describe a raw coin in the title, I strongly feel they should be allowed to. A number grade is how we grade coins. Period. It was not created by the certification companies, who make money assigning the grade they feel the coin deserves. The numbering grade system has nothing to do with the certification companies. It was created and adopted by collectors as a way to describe coins (and how to value them).
There is no sound reason to refuse a seller the ability to describe the coin in the terms that collectors use.
I give no credence to the idea that some people use that method fraudulently to fool other people so the method can not be used. IMHO - It is akin to saying some bank robberies use an automobile to "make a fast getaway", so no one should be able to use cars.
The seller can state a VF is an XF. Is that different really from saying a VF30 is an XF40? How does refusing a given type of description stop sellers from describing coins improperly using different terms?

The "real truth" should come out at the risk of my receiving low grades from ICCS. ICCS should be shut down by ebay and ebay Canada until they get a secure package. For this to happen would require many people with a common purpose. Tough, but I don't think it is impossible.

Eventually we'll see ebay dot ca fall in line with dot com regarding the rules on TPGs and listed grades. But for now it's still a "wild west uncertified coin-fest" for Canadian coins.

Okay, better change that to listed. It's still a significant source of revenue.

Ebay.com and ebay..ca are two different entities. I do battle with ebay.com as well as .ca every day. The PNG is the ebay.com go to organization for policy. They dictate who is a reputable TPG company. No one else. The Canadian aspect is a minor issue to ebay.com. If a Canadaian coin is listed with ICCS or CCCS in the title it can be removed. Not so if listed on ebay..ca. It is a very slow process to get co-operation from different ebay organizations. If you want to list a coin in an ICCS or CCCS holder list it on ebay..ca, in US dollars, and click will ship to USA. It will then show up on ebay.com.

So what your saying M...is ebay .com does not own ebay .ca or any other eBays? I think you are mistaking..I would think that the Owners of ebay own all rights to all eBays no matter where they are ... If I'm wrong sorry.. But if I'm right then rules are rules.. I agree with what someone said earlier in the post..If you list them in the title on .ca then your listing is in violation with .com and they should remove it.. Those who know about the little loophole also know they are bending the rules..This also seems quite unethical on their parts...

it is possible that TPGs "payed" for the "rights" to be one of the only "recognized names". competition laws in another country might prevent the same thing from happening there. its also possible that a TPG owns, or is owned by another company that owns a large # of voting shares on ebay and they are in control of their own interests.

The rules between the different ebay domain names/countries are definitely not all the same. I have a friend in Germany and ebay.com has some rules and regulations I have never heard of before. There is some confusion because an item listed on one domain is also able to be seen while accessing ebay from a different domain name.
