I am going to guess they called it MS-65 RB. I don't see very many marks especially in the focal areas. The luster seems slightly weaker than the previous example. Appears RB though I think at the lower end of the range. Based on what I see, I am inclined to think it is at least a MS-64 RB. A very nice coin!

MS-64 RB with a pretty poor strike.

The slab makes some of the details look mushy and the scratches on the plastic make it difficult to determine whether marks are on the coin or the slab, but I'm going to take a shot at MS64RB. I think the marks that I'm seeing are on the slab. Is this an RPD-011? It's difficult to see the doubling in the date, but the reverse die cracks seem to match. I am trying to learn more about this series. You have inspired me!

I was quite off probably due to the weaker strike, I sure didn't think this would hit 65 at a TPG.

That actually makes sense, since I think NGC overgrades. Did you agree with the 65 grade?

Nope I think its an MS63 with a shot at MS 64 I paid MS64 money for it, but only because of the variety even if its common its a nice example.

I was pretty sure you didn't think that was a 65. Have you found PCGS to be slightly more conservative than NGC? I have and I wanted to know if anyone else agreed. I've been using PCGS exclusively since they started encapsulating problem coins.

Wait until you see the ANACS 2 Centers I'll be putting up once I have been through NCG and PCGS. They have been the most consistent. PCGS went through a phase of rejecting just about anything if there was the slightest chance it could have been a problem coin and they were ultra conservative on the grades they did give. If I see a PCGS coin graded in that era I tend to snap it up.

As you know, I was a huge ANACS advocate for a long time. It's unfortunate that their coins don't bring in the premium that PCGS does. I think it's all because of marketing.
I have to go now. My son is waiting for me to go to NJ.
