@ golden.
I make offers all the time and I add the note that my offer is for free shipping. I have not had a problem thankfully. A suggestion. Why dont you ask the seller to send you a link to the offer page so you can see for yourself if it didnt actually show up with your notes and you do the same. That way the seller can see you actually did add the note. That way, if someone is wrong you will both see it. If it is, in fact a glitch, Then you will both see that you were both correct and you guys can split the shipping costs. If that doesn't tickle your fancy then just cancel the order. JMHO

The seller has refused to.send me a copy of the order, nor give me an email to send my copy to him. He states thay he doesn't give emails over ebay. He told me that I need to pay the price he stated or cancek the order. So I guess im.goin to have to get in contact with ebay and see what to do.

Yikes! Definitely a sour seller. I'd steer clear of the coin and report him to ebay!

The only reason to try and contact ebay would be to try and force him into free shipping. At this point theres no reason to deal with him any further and just asking for more problems with the order if you get them to force it through. Just cancel it and move on to another seller

Well I opted to push to get my coin and let the seller know that I would have.to contact ebay if we could not reach a resolution. He replied th at we had best get ebay involved, because he would not be cheated out of his 10$. Now he says that my offer does have a note for free shipping, but that he does not have to acknowledge it because of eBays offer policies.

Even if you win I wouldnt be surprised if he just cancels the sale saying the item is lost or no longer for sale

I'm with the seller on this one. When you enter your offer, the page clearly says this offer is for the PURCHASE PRICE ONLY. If you wanted the equivalent of free shipping, you should have reduced your offer by $9.95. The seller took the shipping fees into account when he accepted your offer. On the seller end, ebay automatically fills in the numbers on the invoice and you may edit them. He didn't edit them, he sent you an invoice with ebay's dollar amounts. As for sending his email address, ebay frowns upon sending emails via their messaging system. I don't blame him for refusing to send his email, because it can result in penalties from ebay for skirting the rules. He could send you a link to some photos, perhaps. $9.95 shipping is high, but with the current ebay policies, shipping charges cover shipping. Unless you chose local pickup, he has to pay money to get that coin delivered to you. His listing specified his value on that service at $9.95. He would be getting less than the melt value for that Morgan once he pays shipping and fees to PayPal and ebay. He would be a fool to honor your request. It would be well worth the negative feedback you might leave to avoid that loss.

Well I put the purchase price in that slot. And then under the terms I put free.shipping. thats my under standing of what it is there for. Optional: You can include additional contract terms such as shipping, handling, payments, etc. Thats exactly what it says below the terms box when you make an offer.
I understand him not wanting to send and email addy, especially if he could get in trouble for it. I wasnt aware of that aspect. Nonetheless, I wouldnt be so ticked if the guy had admitted he misread it, but no, he.lied and said that my terms were not in the offer. Then changes it too my terms were there but they don't matter. And now hes refusing to even send the coin at all saying "I will not send you this coin! You can beat $9.95 out of someone else, not me." All I want is the offer I made, that he accepted, fulfilled. I've been polite and civil with him the whole time. I would at least expect the same. Is this coin really worth all the fuss? No. But its the principle of the matter.
End Rant

Honestly it sounds like it was a mistake that he missed it at first hence he said it wasnt there and now that youve been forcing his hand hes not going to be nice about it. Really let it go, lifes way to short for stuff like that. If you were him you wouldnt want a buyer doing that to you. People make mistakes, hes not going to admit it when youre threatening to go to ebay since that would just seal the deal they would side with you. Maybe he is a jerk and thats how he is, thats his problem. Their is literally nothing you can do that will force him to send the coin. Every sale has a cancel sale option even if ebay sides with you he can cancel it. Its a big waste of time of effort

Well after a bit of run around from ebay and discussing it with the seller, I think we have settled this out. he going to re-list the coin and cancel the old auction. he will review any offers I submit and send the coin if he chooses one. Although ebay would have sided with me, I feel that this whole mess is actually their fault. As it turns out, when you make an offer on an auction with a computer, there is NO terms box, only a add a note to the seller. When you use the ebay app, as I do since I don't have a computer at home, there is a terms box that states you may add additional contract terms. Regardless of what you use, it only shows up as a note when the seller reads it. I didn't believe it either until I used the work computer to check it out. Not a happy ending but not an ugly one either. Edit- there is a happy ending! The seller offered me $31 including the shipping. Which I gladly accepted. It was only $3 over what I had orginally asked and now I have a morgan with a heck of a story behind it!
