Sorry for the late reaction. Haven't got the time yet to make the coin better looking. You are right it is indeed zeno. Numis coin constantinopolis 474-494. RIC 952a

Thank you both for your reactions. Coins from zeno arent that common if I'm right. I only see a few on ebay and not this type.

I was wondering. I am no roman coin collector. But what approximatly would be the value of this particulair small coin? I only know that zeno coins are scarce. That is all.. and http://www.mcsearch.info don't have any records of this coin of zeno.

Helle Pishpash, Thank you for your reaction. Altough I find more zeno coins. Can't find this one with victoria/angel on it. The only ones I found of copper/bronze. Are with soldier on the reverse or this type of nummis: http://www.acsearch.info/search.htm...lar:300911#0

Well I am stumped. I have checked acsearch, coinproject and helvetica's lists. There are a couple of Victories recorded for Zeno, but they are half siliquae. Perhaps is is some sort of Barbarian Imitation. Perhaps it is not even Zeno. Hopefully one of the others will pass this way.

Anyone think the portrait is a bit odd?

If you look closely at the coin it looks like it was struck over another coin. Especially in the area above the head.

Hello All, I react again on this topic because it is still unknown to me. I've contacted some numismatics about this coin in particulair. But they also don't know for sure. I am still waiting though for some reactions. However what I heard that It could be RIC 3650 mint Ravenna but it aint known on a picture. And mine appears to have an chi ro cross below victoria.

Looks like a contemporary barbarous copy of a late roman bronze AE4.

For so far not an exclusive determination unfortunatly. It appears that it is to specialized for an full determination. Even if it is vandalic or barbarian there aint pictures or examples in books which can be find. So if someone maybe finds an similair one as this piece let me know. The one who looks the most from an picture are the one I posted before 952a but other kind of victoria and no chi ro cross. For the rest? If I know more I will post it here and if someone could of help. Always welcome :)
