For the sake of full disclosure, one side of the box could have small bold type stating privately minted. The disclaimer doesn't need to be ten feet tall. This way the seller is protected, the consumer can make an informed decision whether or not to buy. Others cannot complain that the seller is being deceptive. Isn't the goal clear communication and not misrepresentation! Free enterprise still survives. It's why there is the different laws to protect intellectual property. It's what brand loyalty and trust in a brand is all about. Remember this product is not returnable, once you discover your mistake. Rox

You are over complicating a problem that is not yours. I could not care less that this person is doing this because I don't intend to buy this coin. Personally I feel bad for the customers only because the whole package is not worth more than $35.00. But if you want to be a hero, why not bring up all the coins that are modified and misleadingly sold as mint products. One that comes to mind is the latest wildlife series of bullion. Nobody is stopping the people from selling the colored or gilded coins. May are mistakenly misrepresented as mint products and I'm pretty sure the mint did not make them. How come nobody complanes about these product?

We shouldn't discuss coins we're not going to buy? Some people don't like the packaging. Deal with it. I simply said this is not your problem or the general public's problem. The problem belongs to the mint. Since you don't own the problem you are spending to much effort to resolve an issue that does not effect you. I did not say don't discuss the coin. As for the cost of the coin: $1.20 per coin for plating. $4.00 for the case $0.50 for the sleeve $0.50 for the capsule $6.20 to manufacture. Add your time to design a develop and the fixed cost is around $10 - $15. After selling expenses to double your money it would need to retail for $35.00 max.

Quote:Another Gold Plated Penny. But this time just the penny. The seller even says its not mint issue and that the mint never made one. Selling it as a good luck charm, and for only $5. http://www.ebay.com/itm/30088340906....m1555.l2649 The other seller was claiming that only 10,000 gold plated pennies would ever be made. I wonder if he counted these among them. I don't think so.

I bought one... just for fun... I'll have a good look at the plating when I have it in hand.
