I am hoping AU-50 is at least close to what they graded it. Looks original and a beautiful coin!

My guess would be AU-53. Nice arrows & rays.

I have about 4,000 coins in my collection and slabbed coins are not represented, even by a single piece. I really like to grade my own coins 'in hand'.
This coin has no problems, and presents well. I often differ to other CCF graders. Not in this case. AU 53 to 55 is just fine by me!
Actually, I am after one of these in this condition, or perhaps a little less, for my collection. It would sit nicely in my collection of World coins.

Very nice, going with AU 55, just a tad too much wear on the high points for it to be any higher in my book

I'll agree with AU-53, problem-free. Luster needs to be more complete for a higher AU grade. Great type coin!

I appreciate all your comments and compliments! I like this coin a lot, and am happy it graded.
Most of you over-graded this coin, which I attribute to PCGS's gorgeous photography. But you were all in the AU ballpark.
A few of you concurred with PCGS (and me) that the level of wear suggests a grade of:
*********** AU50 ************
(Sorry, PCGS didn't send me a photo in the slab.)
Thanks for participating.
