It is typical for current year coins not to show up in circulation until around this time of the year. Here's a link to the mint annual reports which will show the production numbers. 2012 was just posted so 2013 will be about a year from now. http://www.mint.ca/store/mint/about....UYXVY51zYs8

The Mint took a while to get the 2013 coins out, first seemed to appear on the West coast. There are rolls on ebay now so it won't take long for them to show up every where

I made a topic about a 2013 nickel a while back. I've still only found the one plus 4 2013 quarters and this was all about a month or 2 ago.

2013 coins only seem to come out once the weather gets nice. As soon as it hit 20 degrees, 2013 quarters and nickels were pouring out of vending machines. I have yet to find a 2013 dime, though.
Oh, but I found 2013 de Salaberry quarters a full month before caribou 2013 quarters. Mysterious.

Thank you all so much for your kind welcomes and informative answers. I am accumulating quite a few coloured De Salaberrys. Probably will have a roll just from change as they seem pretty common here in the Ottawa area.
But come to think about it, I haven't really seen any 2013 coins except the above mentioned.

Yay! Found my first 2013 in my CRH. Put it in a cardboard 2x2 to mark the occasion.

When I was a kid, I used to think that the new years' coins were only released in Ottawa on January 1, and slowly traveled outwards, at walking speed. It made sense to me, living in Western Canada...

Found my first 2013 CRH today too; along with the 1991 I was looking for.

Yesterday I found a 2013 Caribou when going through 10 rolls of quarters. Found de Salaberry about two weeks ago. Have not seen a 2013 dime or nickel yet.

hi everyone...I'm totally newbie to coin collecting and I just join this group. I live in Texas and the way I look so far about CRH is that too many old folks doing it here. I was starting to collect half dollars esp the Kennedy. Any good advise for me as a starter? I will accept any....thanks...about the 2013 nickels. I just got a whole box of it last month from the bank and of course I keep it for rainy days hehehehe...

If one could find six, I don't think it's scarce.
