I'm a new CRH (waves to everyone) and I started taking my dumps to the Metro Bank. I'm a member there and they have a coin counting machine to use for free. They don't seem to care how many I put in there. I did $900 in one shot and the teller didn't even blink at the amount. I figure I'll switch between the several Metro banks in the area so any one of them doesn't get annoyed with me. Thankfully I know a teller at the one location so I know I'll always be welcome there.

Hey hopeless,

Welcome to the CRH fun. Just to clarify, it's not always hard to find ways to dump your coins. Some people have limited ways to dump and these provide some more interesting ideas.

Talking with a couple of gals at my normal order location, and they I'd it was cool if I wanted to dump in their self-service machine. I was stunned, but they said someone else orders pennies through them and dumps there as well. Still don't think I'd be comfortable dumping too much there, but it's nice to know I could do a bit if I needed.

The 14 banks I pick up from are all supplied by Loomis where as my 4 dump banks are some other weird one... I think its called Gardenia or something that starts with a g.... I figure this is good cause I do such high volume(4 boxes of nickels and 2 boxes of pennies every single day) and having the different supply companies from where I dump and where I pick up brings the odds down that I will search the same coins repeatedly... Loomis is the big supplier here in the Denver metro area but there are a lot of different ones that supply coin.... I have picked up some coins from my dump banks before and they are not Loomis wrapped like all my usual coins... Just a little tip for everyone, Try and find a dump bank that gets their coins from a different company than the bank that you get your coins from. :)

I guess you could get a Lowes gift card from the Coinstar machine but I just go into the local Home Depot and whip out $300 in halves to pay my bill.

Different method, same ends to the means.

Yeah.... Personally I HATE Walmart and anything we all can do to put the negative on them is good..... heck even taking a roll of toilet paper from their bathroom every time you drive past them is good.... Or go into their bathroom and leave the water running.... Just anything you can do to burn up their money into another business IE Water department electric department etc. just stick it to them hardcore lol
