I'm a little worried about the area around the date and through RICA. Nice AU-ish detail but I don't know if it qualifies as original surfaces.

I will run with EF45. There is obvious, but minor, wear on the high parts.

Doesn't look like original surface color to my eye.
I'm in the no-higher-than-45 camp.

I'm pretty sure that this is a O-142 R3. I want to wait until you post pictures of the coin in-hand before grading. Grading from scans tends to be inaccurate because the surfaces don't show up well.

Here is the description of the O-142 for you to check when you get the coin:

OBV 27: S1 is 1-1/4 mm and high,. The bottom of the 8 is thin with a tall vertical serif on the 2.

REV AF: 50 C. is 1-3/4 mm and high. A-A (distance between the base serif of the A in AMERICA and the first arrowhead) is 1/2 mm. The I is centered under the right side of the T. Two lines of stripe 4 extend into the crossbars. There are 2 die lines in the field below the left wing and the die is unfinished in the leaf area.

I am unsure about the roughened area by the date and under the bust. It looks like the die was beginning to rust or crumble. You will have a better idea about that when you see it in-hand.

Please let me know when you get your pics of the coin posted.

Thanks Susan, for all the variety information.

What effect would this have on the grade, if it was a problem with the die.

Will do!

Any last minute guesses?

I know 90 degree pictures are a lot better, I just couldn't get any better pictures right now.

This picture just shows the toning on the reverse a bit better.

And, a close-up of the date

Recovering from an old(ish) cleaning (methinks it involved thiourea), and chances are the planchet around the date is the best hint regarding the necessity for that cleaning. High XF Detail, and there's no good reason for the owner of this coin to lack pride.

I'm in with Ssuper Ddave on this, was cleaned a long time ago probably, it is starting to recover with a nice patina now. This one would probably be held back to high EF grade - details for the cleaning. I could even see an AU50 out of it as some luster apears to still be present.

Thanks everyone, for your opinions.

With the coin in hand, I agree that it has been cleaned (quite a while ago). But it has been toning quite nicely.
