What I find impressive is someone over a hundred years ago had the foresight to keep these coins in a pristine state.

Good lighting certainly helps to accentuate the cameo effect.
One of the few coins I would consider slabbing. Mainly for protection, but so that others can recognise the grade.

My top dollar coins are all ancients, and you can still get to appreciate them in the hand.
