I have no need to inspect the bar in person Chris. You are welcome to just mail it to me now that I have fully funded the auction win.
Hopefully this ends this ridiculous discussion of unsuspecting buyer getting ripped off by counterfeit bar as I can do without your concern.
If you would also be so good as to include any original documents from the Canadian auction from which you sourced the bar this would be exceedingly beneficial for collector provenance. Welcome to black out/copy any sensitive information.
Glad we are done here.

And by the way I hope you enjoy your January vacation amigo!
Thanks again for bringing it to auction.

Gold and Dolo
You both seemed to miss the point that what resulted from the question was about the treatment of others not the bar itself. I personally couldnt care less about the bar itself, but I will say something if someone gets belittled for asking a simple question.

This is a question quoted "Are you absolutely certain that it is not counterfeit?" But that was not the whole paragraph....
The following was what was actually written , It is clearly more than just a question according to english class in high school...did you attend one.... it is a statement , not only that , it is one that has implications specifically saying "it's kind of like and 1893s , most people I know won't touch one un slabbed due to the shear number of counterfeits" When in actuality it is nothing like that. It's unfair that you would throw that thought out onto my sale as I have given you no reason and done you no wrong.
Like I said ,
Best of luck in life. May many treasures befall you all And congrats to the buyer.
THE ORIGINAL STATEMENT THAT STARTED THE DOWNWARDS SPIRAL THAT WAS ONCE A GOOD THREAD
"Are you absolutely certain that it is not counterfeit? It's kind of like an 1893 S, most of the people I know won't touch one un slabbed do to the shear number of counterfeits. Now with bars I have no idea who could authenticate it for you but I would be careful not to spend the profit to fast just in case it is a chinese counterfeit."

MOVE ON...
You are coming off very poorly, taking so much offense to a basic question is very weird.
Can't agree with baseball more, just wish I could take back the time I have spent reading and replying to this thread. GL on your bar and I mean that.

I can see that everything thats been said has been lost on you. If you want to play the educational degree game with comments like "according to english class in high school...did you attend one....", lets play it I guarantee youll lose.
Let me break it down for you. His first question was just that a question. It was followed by an example that was used for comparative purposes that gave insight to his question. That was then followed by a statement which supports the fact he was just asking a simple question he wanted to know the answer too and finished with what should have been taken as a friendly piece of advice.
I guess my high school must have been better since we learned all that. The snide comments and overly defensive responses are just confirming the likely hood that something isn't on the up and up here. Real fake or otherwise all youre doing is assuring a lot of people here wont touch your listings with a 10 foot poll with this kind of behavior.

He Said , she said , he said , she said , he said , she said.
Let's let it go.
I have tried to convey my reasons but we clearly do not see eye to eye.
Both of you have made accusations to the authenticity of the bar and more importantly to my integrity as a person And I over reacted , yes.

We all know if it was fake, it still would be composed of silver as a good gold or silver fake is made of real gold or silver....
I dont think China can fake these bars as 30 or 40 years of silver bar patina/tarnish begins to take place, somthing a con cant easily fake....
Perhaps only a true expert could say for sure, but tht Engelhard stamp conveys trust with many potential buyers....
On that huge silver buy on Pawnstars that time, Rick did not even blink at the Engelhard bars or bags of 90%, he in fact was worried the no name company odd sized 777 oz bar was fake so he drilled it and it was real.....
In fact those oldman silver rounds they sell were minted from that bar....

I think we need to over analyze this a little more. Dude clearly overreacted, but to be fair, it was implied that there was a significant chance his bar was a counterfeit with no reason given. . . even if it was just a simple question. The implication that this listing is likely a scam is being thrown around too casually for my taste.
Congrats to the buyer and seller. Sweet bar with a cool story. Thanks for sharing the details with us Gofindtreasure.

Ive been very entertained by this all. Funny how a little tip to watch something exciting unfold can turn into such drama and misinterpretation of wrong choice of words and ones desire to have the final say.
Personally I think GoFind came out of the gates swinging when he really didn't need too. I'm glad he sold his bar though. It was nice to watch it....would have been better to see an auction with 61 bids instead of 3, but nice to see it all work out for him in the end.

"Personally I think GoFind came out of the gates swinging when he really didn't need too."
Gofind got defensive as they had been defending the bar over and over again for some time, via people saying it sells for way more then its worth etc., typical human nature....
Like my late grandfather said, and most of your all's as well, something is only worth truly what one who sees it is for sale and has the money to buy it is willing to spend.....
Some people feel those bars are worth 3k plus, no matter how delusional and high they may in fact be, they appear to be out there in some numbers....
Now then once all those collectors get their bars one would expect the market to fall out, but who knows....
Anytime in future if one has a chance to get a 4 oz. Engelhard at 1500 or so, they will in their mind think they can instantly double their money, and if ya got the 1500 to buy it, we in this genre call that a no-brainer....
