Only thing I'm buying is the barn owl for my bird series...
The rest of the coins are just plain sloppy and lazy. Nothing spectacular...or even eye appealing.

@Cowboy: I am no art expert and I'm not into art that much so the subject matter didn't attract me. On top of that, this coin is the beginning of another series. RCM had created at least 6 new series just in the last couple months. I have had enough!

Quote: ^^ Thoughts on the contemporary art coin? To busy for me and nothing more than a fancy bullion coin. Not worth $90 when silver is trading so low. I would not mind if it was $60.00.

Quote: Thoughts on the contemporary art coin? I have to agree here with SA4H. Additional Art series.... Except this, I see there "hunter" and some birds. Birds again... But will be nice for new collector that just starts.

1912 Gold Hand Selected $5 and $10. I bought them as an investment into her future and I think will have the best value when she is old enough to appreciate them.

This is the 1st release in years I've ordered nothing, and I'm not going to be ordering anything. Also seeing Canopy #2 makes me glad I sold my 1st one, 2nd doesn't help the series at all. Even the Art series...I'll pass. The mint should be concentrating on fewer releases that offer something unique instead of basically re-releasing the same old boring coins every month. August release = yawn, more money for garage sales = yay.

Yep. 2nd canopy coin absolutely ruin the whole series. So disappointed about the design. I have one first canopy coin, intial want to make a full set. But I decide to discontinue this series. I do not want to collect a series that have an unattractive coin for me.

Ya I agree the frosting is poor quality , I bought the 1/4 gold allegory ...loved the design but the poor frosting finish really put a downer on it for me. I will try and avoid anything with frosted finishes from the RCM from now on or until they fix it.

why are they putting that thick border on so many coins? the 1/2oz o canada coins have it, some of the Gof7 coins have it. it's unfuriating. so much wasted space.

I saw this at my dealer's the other day. The style reminds me of the banknote coin that was released last month. It has the same type of style. In hand, there's actually quite a bit of detail and depth to the coin.

Here's my theory: RCM knows that you're going to purchase from them and profit from their coins and keep their market rolling. They don't care anymore about the quality since it knows it woulnd't loose customers just because of the frosting deficiencies.
