Great coin  ! I think it makes easy 64, and more than likely MS65. |

Wow. You might have just made yourself a score there; starting at MS64-ish, Business Strikes are outnumbered by Proofs - it's a real Condition Rarity in upper Mint State grades and worth more than an equivalent Proof in 65 and above. It's a bit overlit for a truly reliable opinion but I like your chances at 64. That makes it a >$400 coin - tough to call value when Heritage (for instance) has only offered 5-MS64's in the last 5 years. Looks like the guy who punched the date should have stayed sober that day.  Check the 1, 9 and 7 for repunching, particularly the bottom knob of the 9; this numeral orientation matches that of the only attributed RPD I saw in my research, an ANACS 64 that hammered at nearly double the grade value.... |

MS65. the surfaces are little but troublesome to me. although very nice, the coin may have had light dip. I'm not an expert on this so maybe someone else can weigh in. I dont think it will affect its value. awesome strike...gorgeous!

The coin looks like it may be least MS-64 maybe MS-65. While this may be a result of how it was photographed, the obverse looks so dull and lackluster in the seller's pics. If it actually looks like that in hand, I think it would receive a details grade. If the luster is more like the reverse, then you may have gotten quite a bargain.

I'd say at least MS64 I barely see anything that draws your eye away from it....it is a very nice coin.

The obverse looks way off. No better than a 63, probably details. The images caught cartwheel on the reverse, why not the obverse? Huge red flag.

@FadetoBlack I took that in to consideration if you look at the area around the coin it appears that both sides were shot in different lighting...the area surround the obverse is darker. We'll see when I get it in hand, will post updated pictures. I have a feeling I will keep it regardless....I have AU 50 money in it....actually less than that and I absolutely love the strike.

The shadows are in the same spots (Meaning the dual lights were placed in the same locations, or probably not moved between shots) which means you should see bands of cartwheel in the same spots. The obverse is probably going to be details at best. Also, if you notice the light being brightly reflected in front of the face? Anytime I've seen that, it has indicated either overexposure of light (which doesn't seem the case here) or a cleaning.

EDIT: One other thing... given the clarity, size, and technique used to shoot the coin, this isn't an amateur, this is somebody who knows what they're doing. I doubt your images will provide any more detail than these unless you go outside with the coin and record some cartwheel.

@ FTB. I'm cautiously optimistic on this one. Mainly for the reasons you listed. I don't mind throwing a little money out there at a chance I'm getting something much better. We'll see, the way I look at it is I either got a steal of a deal or payed close to FMV on this one (if it's a details coin).

Here she is in hand.....MS details obverse improperly cleaned? Debating if I should keep this or send it back. I'm not in it that deep....$92....thoughts?   |
