You can go ahead and educate tellers about silver, and reward them also. No thanks, been doing this a long time. You will just create more monsters, lol! Have seen others do it and seen the silver finds then dry up.
Personally, lots of halves, Ikes, multiple steel wheat rolls, 50+ wheat rolls at a time, war nicks etc...
When I listen to LED ZEPPELIN...so do my neighbors...
Roll hunting since '77
Dirt fishing since '72

The only time my finds started drying up was when a new teller came along. Not to mention the fact that I never have time to CRH anymore.

I am in canada, the prairies...In my city here the tellers are very rude, and very collecter unfriendly......do not say yu are one,,,They will want to hav yu removed from the Bank- even if yu been a customer for 20 yearsss.....Today I asked for some fives---I had some 10's in my hand--It was like puulling teeth.....The top 4 fives in her drawer had ink on them (Some form of stamp)..She told me she was not allowed to give them out....If not me then who?The next customer?,,They were in her drawer....Why? If not to give out?Wah?I did realize that the stamp has actually devalued them, so I gave up...I was still treated poorly even again before I left...

At my dump bank, one of the tellers saved me 10 steel wheats in exchange for a dime. Pretty happy with that. Besides that, I am just happy I haven't had a hard time getting boxes or dumping.

Best I have done was a 1970-D and 1970-S half dollars. I felt great as I slid the 4 quarters over the counter.

My favorite teller just called me this morning and told me that they had received "56 big dollar silver coins" I assume she just means silver colored like IKEs but I'm going in at 3 to pick them up. I can't wait too see what they are.

You never know. I have heard stories of tellers having a few Peace and Morgan dollars on hand. Let me know what you find...

Well sorry I got back on so late. Heres an update on the 56 big dollars. Nothing special just a bunch of 70's IKEs.

1971-P x3
1971-D x33
1972-D x4
1974-D x1
1976 bicentennial x15

Thats it. I'll look for anything different on the coins. Any errors in particular that I should look for?

Still cool silver or not.

Errors/Varieties:
1971-P: None
1971-D: Friendly Eagle
1972-D: DDR
1974-D: None
1976 Bicentennial: Type I and Type II

I only listed the clad business strikes here. If any are proofs there are different varieties. Good luck!

Thanks wheatchaser. I'll look through them when I have time tonight. I'll be picking up 4 boxes of nickels tomorrow so no time for those!

I have not gotten any silver from tellers but have scored a few cool finds even if they are not valuable:

-8 US $2 bills (Not bad find for Canada)
-lots of old nickel half dollars and dollars
-1970's series one and two dollar bills
-bird series 2, 5, 10, 20 dollar bills
