Man, you've got some nice 1921's. This one's a little weaker strike - slight flattening of the talons and incomplete large bottom leaves on the wreath - but still strong. I see it as a good strong 64. Shot in sunlight?

Shot with two Jansjo LED desk lamps and a daylight desk lamp.

I'll try to get up some lighter pictures.

There is a scratch on the right wing that doesn't show up well when looking at it straight on.

Solid 64. Try diffusing the light out of those Jansjo's and see if that helps. Shame about the milk shots.

I'm still comfortable with 64. If that was shot with Jansjos, they're probably at too low an angle; that's why I thought it was sunlight.

I put this in 64 territory as well.

The jansjos were at a low angle. I used super-macro so the lens was about 2" away. It was the only way to get the light in without a shadow.

One last try.

This is a different set up with the light diffused through opaque milk bottle plastic.

Ooooh. Hello, massive increase in contrast.

Gotcha; you're doing the best you can with what you've got. Remember the technique with your last set, because it's as good as you could hope for with lustrous silver. I really, really like it; the only downside is I can see two different lighting color temperatures in it.

If your not sick of this thread by now...

These are the sellers pictures. These are the only thing I had to go by. Scanned, I'm guessing, through the plastic case it came in.

Yeah, scans. Your hints that there might be a pretty good coin here (posted more for lurking readers than yourself):

1) Mint wash spots. These wear off quickly in circulation, and are a pretty good indicator the coin is Mint State.

2) Details in the talons and along the top edges of the wings indicate a strong strike.

3) Especially on the reverse, "dark" fields shown in a scan indicate pretty darn good luster.

4) You just_don't_see that much detail in 1921 cotton bolls very often.

The coin you presented here in photographs backs up everything the scans hinted at.
