I have not seen that one....not even on ebay and I have been known to look at all the ACO postings! Clockwork Orange items are kind of scarce...just like Galba. Aside from ebay I have only seen a handful it items in stores. I did meet Mr. Malcolm McDowell and I was dressed in the "Height of Fashion" sporting a home made Alexander DeLarge costume. He was particularly impressed with the britva "Sword Cane" I had made. I imagine more people on this post know him for his role as Caligula in the movie made by penthouse. He was one of the reasons I bought my father a Caligula coin last year!

Nice coin at a great price. Your Dad will love it. If he doesn't, sent it to me.

Coin is a bit rough but for the price ...... a steal !

One 'spot' on reverse at 4 o'clock might be bronze disease and should be watched to make sure it does not grow.

I got the coin yesterday. It is 9.07 grams and 25-27 mm in diameter.

A few years ago, I had the oppertunity to buy a clockwork orange coffee table...and my wife shot me down...I will never forgive her. It would have looked sick in my man cave. Oh and great coin, and great handle.

Wow...was it one that was actually in the movie. Like the ones used in the Korova Milk Bar (woman manikins)?

Check the small spot on the reverse. Try poking at it with a wooden toothpick to see if any of the 'green stuff' crumbles away. If yes you need treat in the near future lest the whole coin slowly dissolve over the next decade into lump of powdery oxide.

I am not saying this to alarm you as it is not unusual for these problems to happen. I recently took out a favorite sestertius of mine which had some reddish iron oxide looking encrustations. Over the past 2 years since I had purchased it several people had recommended removal. The areas covered were small and represented only about 2-3% of the obverse. I thought they added some character and decided to put off the decision indefinitely. When I took it out recently to my horror there were bright green fuzzy spots mixed with the reddish areas ! Egad !
As my brother is more expert at the 'chemotherapy' than I it was sent out immediately for the cure. Some minor scaring is evident and the color has been changed. But it appears for now the 'cancer' is cured !

How do you treat it? Is there some type of wash to buy?

Google verdi-care and read through the information carefully. It is really good stuff, but you need to catch it early.

First determine whether it is indeed an 'active' spot. Bronze disease has a distinctive pale green color which is what drew my attention. Some normal patina can be the same color too. BD is soft and has a fuzzy look about it. If you poke at it with a soft wooden toothpick tiny pieces will crumble away. It will also grow larger (like cancer) and can be recognized that way too. It is preferable not to wait though !
