Lol...i predicted the last quarter would be the Oklahoma D mint coin. I figure what the heck today and get a roll of quarters at the bank. Inside is the Oklahoma D mint that I needed.

Man I took my bag of my extra Denver State Quarters to the bank today and I know I had at least two Oklahoma in the bag. I'm missing about half the Philly coins.

I really love the way they just scatter it all to the winds and let the collectors pick up the pieces , I am SO SICK of finding bright shiny MS60+ Hawaii Volcanoes. I've had entire rolls with nothing but them and Perry's Victory. The territories will most likely be the hardest ones to find but I get a few in most rolls, D mint mark only thou. I really should start saving more of them, I'm still kicking my self for tossing back several 2009 dimes a few months ago, I finally found another one but it is not pretty. to sum up: getting a full 50 P or D State set from pocket change, not really that hard, but not the best chance for high quality. getting a full 100 P AND D State set from CRH, $1,000-2,000 and the time to search it all. If you want the full set in AU+ for both P & D States, D.C./Territories and ATB, it will take some work. A few hundred per month in CRH, spread it out over the month or turn it into a game night one weekend a month. The Rushmore I have in my book for D came from pocket change. I was going to the bank to get quarter rolls, so I got dimes and nickels instead Edit: and how long will the entire set take? I'm on month 9 and counting, I'll let you know

I've been setting these aside since day 1 and still don't have all of them yet. All of those I have are chUnc with one or two chAU's.
If you think these are tough try finding the older coins in nice condition. Some are a little tough in any condition.
Time don't fly, it bounds and leaps.

Lol, ASLAN. I cannot find a Hawaii volcanoes for the life of me. I've gotten every other ATB in pocket change, except that one. Not even trying to do P&D on the ATB's because they have been so scarce.

Only P mint I'm missing is IL, Okie. D mint I am missing is NC, MO, WI, AK, KS, AR, TX and WA. I get P mint coins pretty regularly, in fact just got a UNC P mint NV today and sat it aside. Let me know if you want to help each other fill the slots.

Finally did something I hate doing for modern coins...paying more than face value. I simply cannot find a Hawaii Volcanoes quarter, so I paid a buck at a coin show for a nice D mint one for the book. That means I'll get five or six of them in change next week...lol.

I just got one roll of quarters the other day, and I still think trying to do pocket change alone will be more frustrating then rewarding, a roll every once in a while is the way to go. Here is what I came up with NV, WY, AZ, SC, NM, ID, OK, RI, NDx2, SD, WV, VA, KY, all D mint, a Puerto Rico P (decent shape and a hole filler ), and the Nevada was a nice upgrade. Only 6 ATB (which is weird I get tons of them usually) a Chickasaw P and from D - Olympic x2, Glacier, El Yunque, and of course a Volcano , just imagine how nasty it will look after a few years in pockets scratching against keys, it seems they are making the ATB to self-destruct and increase value of any that have been saved in AU- MS, the Rushmore is nice and gleaming but the face and nose is going to be scratched easily, they are all ' fragile'. Only two P's that is my usual ratio thou. The rest were older, I get a good mix of P & D on them. I think I got a few 1976's too, I spend them just to see the looks . So about half of them could be hole fillers if you are starting out. Reviewing this thread I was reminded of the owl on the tootsie roll pop commercials, One, Two, Three... CRUNCH! 1. from pocket change only, 2. pocket change accumulated over the past 10 years, 3. went through probably about $300 worth of quarters over the weekend ... CRUNCH!

Yeah. The owl with the tootsie pop is a good analogy...lol. Last couple of times at the bank I have asked for roll of quarters, probably keep doing that to increase the chances. I have such few left that I hafta increase the chances.
You are right on the Rushmore quarters. I have one with scratching on the face from a sorter or vending machine.

Congratulations, have you tried to work on the territories or ATB at all? I'm only missing 12 P mint marks on them. Nice pocket change finds but I still think it's near to impossible to get them all just from change, at least not a set to be happy with.

Haven't tried the territories. The best I was able to do on ATB was one of each, except Hawaii Volcanoes. I relented and bought one at a coin show. Sadly, I don't get enough of the Territorial or ATB's to try by mint mark. The mint is finally doing with the ATB's what they should have been doing since 1999. An affordable Mylar pack of circulation quarters by design from P & D mints for each year. I have 2010, 2011 and 2013. Just need to find a 2012. What P mints are you missing?

For P mint marks I'm still missing, two each from 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012, four missing from 2013 (I'm somewhat amazed that I found a Great Basin from 2013 with a P) 2009 American Samoa Northern Mariana Islands ATB2010 Yellowstone Mount Hood 2011 Glacier Olympic 2012 Choco Culture Hawaii Volcanoes (Tons of D all the time but never a P yet) 2013 White Mountain Perry's Victory Fort McHenry Mount Rushmore And that is mostly from CRH over the past 10 months. In 1999 I got a folder for the States and started filling out of pocket change. Last year I started getting back into the collection and started on CRH so I started filling, think it only took about 4 months to get all the states for P&D. Now it seems about every $300-$500 in quarters and I'm finding a hole filler. Another $10,000 and I might have all of them.

I just completed a cheap Warman's folder of State/Territories Quarters, one hole for each state. I may try to do the mint marks in the future. All from circulation (except NMI, see below), and it only took a couple months to put it together. Quote: Finally did something I hate doing for modern coins...paying more than face value. I simply cannot find a Hawaii Volcanoes quarter, so I paid a buck at a coin show for a nice D mint one for the book. That means I'll get five or six of them in change next week...lol. This is what happened to me with the 2009 NMI quarter. Had all the rest from circulation but never seemed to come across that one. So after I bought one, I saw about a half dozen of them at work right in a row. I also have one of each of the ATB Quarters to date. I'm slowly working on the mint marks for this one, and have both mints for Rushmore, Perry's, White Mtn., Denali, and Hot Springs. The only one I've bought so far is Smoky Mountains (D), so those will probably turn up in circulation for me now as well! I'm just doing these in 2x2's for now in a binder, and will probably buy a P/D album soon.
