If you can't see it, you can't date it.

Looks like a bunch of people are actually buying into the story, unbelievable.
Your right jack jeckel, apparently one could make a pile of cash off the fools on ebay.
(unless, of course, there is something there I'm not seeing, which makes me the fool)

I'm sure once this sells, the next coin the seller will list is a "hard to read" 1913 Liberty nickel.

You know, the missing 6th example.

The date is nearly completely obliterated. It looks to me like the date is 1856

It will take a great imagination to see 1856 on that one.

Looks like an 1856 "Lying Eagle" to me. This coin is surely a hole-filler. The guy who originally tossed it in the ground apparently thought so.

Wow, it ended at over $175.

And there were 6 different bidders that were willing to pay over $80 for this. I am speechless

Whoever won this will not be having a good time when they get it. IF they get it at all. *sigh*

Sorry if this sounds blunt, but some eBayers act like complete fools with their bidding wars. This slug isn't worth $1.

If you are in the market for a 56. There is one on there now that is slabbed for 15,000.
