distortion on the rev. caused by something striking the obv. (indenting it) flattening the details of the rev. (localized) first rule of error collecting see what is there not what you want to see.

Let wait for an expert. lol

Notice the right side of the crown doesn't come together. And what's going on with the 'D' in 'DEI'?

If pressure was exerted on both sides of the coin to flatten details--how did this happen without distorting the circumference and rim--where did the metal go?

The first opinion given was from one of the experts..... You might want to pay attention and learn which members have correct knowledge and which ones are just guessing.

The dent on the obverse matches up with the missing detail on the reverse, this coin has taken a hit at some stage.

Well...even Nickleguy said he was waiting for the experts. Often, even I don't always know which poster is the "expert opinion"--unless the reasoning is logical and carefully laid out to me...and I've been on this forum nearly 7 years.

Yes I was referring to nickelsguy as the expert. I think when he said lets wait for the experts he was being sarcastic.. Hence the lol comment. I agree that It's good to be cautious with opinions and to get a proper response but I've made it a priority to figure out who knows their stuff and who doesn't. It helps me to learn the best I can without getting confused.

Sorry if I don't know all the experts on the forums. I intend no disrespect, it's just sorta hard to keep track of who's who.
