cool tiny coin. I believe TIF once posted a photo of her monkey (I think it was larger than thing) on the floor. You'd never find it again!

Nice pickup, V! I do love those microcoins. I don't have a Miletos yet Ben-- good memory! Here's that thread about the near-invisible coin on the carpet: https://goccf.com/t/163093Not sure I ever posted good pictures of it, so here it is Macedon, Pangeion Region AR trihemitetartemorion (trihemiobol? tetartemorion? nomenclature varies), 5 mm, 0.26 gm Uncertain mint, 5th century BC Obv: monkey squatting left Rev: round shield or pellet within incuse square Ref: "Uncertain Thraco-Macedonian Coins, Part II", NomKhron 17 (1998), 67 And for size comparison, shown on a 48.5 mm Ptolemy II

Very nice addition. I also have one of similar type. Can't even remember when (or even why !) I bought it. I am also terrified to take it out of the mini bag I have it in. I did drop it once and it was 45 seconds of terror on my hands and knees.

Those are some interesting coins. Since seeing some posted here in the last few weeks(the monkey one for example!) I have wanted to grab one for my ancient collection, just have no idea where to look. I will find out eventually :)

I have another question. Did the ancient Greeks have lions and monkeys and such in country or did they see these creatures in their travels? So many animals on coins.
